Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

So nothing shady? I mean I'm not naive to the purity of college basketball recruiting but there are different levels. Just seems odd that they're recruiting at that level, even better than us it appears.
Their facilities are horrible. Coach looks like the creepiest dude in planet.

Raijon Tucker picked Memphis, so that's not good.

We need Penny to suck this year. As the state university, it is so frustrating to have a hotbed of basketball talent in your state and not be able to capitalize on it.

Unfortunately that hotbed just so happens to be in the city where he is coach. Most good middle or east Tennessee talent still goes our way or at least a good amount.

James and Nkamhoua will be great 3-4 year kinda guys for UT...I think Barnes gets another S16 before he's done at UT

sorry, I don't Buttchug.

From the archives: UT's case of the 'butt-chugging' frat brothers

guys like Tubby and Barnes are 'old school' and there's nothing wrong with that...

Barnes isn’t necessarily old school. He took a lot of one and two and dones at Texas. He just got frustrated with the ones who thought they could jump and weren’t patient enough to stay and get better. He demands perfection and not all high level kids want to take his coaching. 5 star committed this year, and a 5 star committed next year.

I don't doubt it. I certainly meant no disrepect- I've actaullly always liked Penny, he's a class act. But in all honesty, Memphis being good makes things harder for us ha.

Memphis being good has no effect on our success imo. Case in point Their best team ever was at the same time as one of our best teams ever

Exactly

Look at the freshman class if u include Burns and Plavsic since both will be redshirt freshman. Thats pretty dang good. 2020 class needs to be top 15 and it probably will.

there's a stench of arrogance with this post. You guys do have a top class coming in but you guys better hope to keep some of these top prospects 3-4 years. HOU runs the AAC

Memphis State talks a way better game than they play. They've done nothing, yet he is over here talking smack?

Not trying to be a jerk, but how do we know how good any of these new guys will be...including Burns? They've not done much of anything at this level. Even if they do have that potential, how long will it take to reach it? 1, 2 or maybe even 3 years? I can remember everyone talking about Hopson being a one and done. Look at Richardson. Didn't really start to come into his own until his junior season.

At this point, we're getting guys with potential who will need time to develop. I'm not sure we can count on any of them for another year or two.
