Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

If TN’s actual recruiting is similar to the shot gun blast approach in this thread, then oh brother - Vols would be all over the board. I’ve been out of pocket for several days but it doesn’t seem like we have much momentum in recruiting. Any crystal balls to the Vols?

Lofton is from Texas, and his family is still there…his father was a military man which we have seen work out well with Barnes before, so if he’s not dead set on playing closer to home I could definitely see some mutual interest there.[/QUOTE
A little chubby and undersized— plus a military father… How can we go wrong? He’s definitely the next Granmiral Scholliams.

If it is BHH, and he indeed moves on, I'd love to see us take a chance on Kenneth Lofton Jr. He is the most like Grant Williams I've seen since Grant Williams left Tennessee. He's undersized and a little portly at 6-7, 275, but he definitely holds his own, moves extremely well for his size, has great hands around the basket, even wears #2 for La Tech. He is infinitely more aggressive with the ball in the paint than BHH ever showed to be. He's going up into traffic rather than fading away with an 8-10 ft jumper. Needs to improve his FT shooting (67%) for as many fouls as he draws, but I think Barnes has shown a plan to use a guy of his size and stature to win games and impro e their ability.

Gives me more of an Anosike vibe than Grant Williams vibe

After watching of videos of the guys were interested in...

I really like Yuri Collins as a veteran PG who could come in "on ball" can facilitate(good passer), can drive, create his own shot, and can shoot from 3, good FT shooter.

Of course Brandon Murray really good length, and physical, great defensive presence, but can really score on the offensive end.

Then of course 5* Julian Phillips has a very well rounded game, and can be an impact player at 3/4 behind JJJ

I’m guessing Georgetown is guaranteeing BHH a starting spot and the opportunity to be a focal point of the offense, but you got to wonder who is helping the kid make this decision. There really aren’t to many positives in going to Georgetown. Georgetown hasn’t had a player drafted since 2013, they had very bad internal issues a few years ago, they do not get much national exposure, and they have only been over .500 one time under Patrick. I hope it works out for Brandon, but this only makes sense if his main goal is just to stat pad.

Do we even know for sure it's BHH?
He’s the only one that makes sense really, Powell already used his free transfer, Mashack was said to be staying and has strong leadership skills. Who else could it be? Olivier? Uros? Both are seniors and have bought into Barnes’ system
