We get Collins, Phillips AND Reneau and it would be one of the greatest recruiting hauls in our basketball history. Perfect storm.

Basilio's blog this morning (take that as you will) didn't really paint that picture. Said things have gone radio silent with Phillips and seems like a highest bidder deal. Also said that the expectation is that Reneau ends up at Miami but the staff will try to get him to visit.

Frustrating we saw what Grant was able to do here, and we've not been able to find a legit big that wants to do that? Seems crazy to me.

Very frustrating. This method of waiting until the last minute to grab some diamond in the rough guys is going to bite us in the ass one year, and it could be this year. We could go into 2023-2024 with a roster full of project guys. We may be the only program in the country that could win an SEC Championship and then strike out on almost all of our “main” targets. The only two I feel good about landing are Collins and Key. Which is a good guard haul, but it doesn’t cause much excitement for our post. We need one very good big man to go with this team if we want any chance of contending for anything at all IMO.

You guys do realize we had 1 roster spot to work with right? We can’t just sign guys without knowing if guys are staying or going. The one guy we signed is a really good player too, and people are acting like recruiting is down this year. You wanna know why you feel that way? Because of the transfer portal. Guys are jumping ship left and right, and that gives off the perception that we haven’t recruited we’ll because we haven’t already filled those spots. This is going to be a challenge, because nobody knew for sure about BHH leaving. If we did then we probably would’ve already had a big that was in the fold. Just need patience guys.

Uhhh... they were all in on quite a few guys last summer leading up to the fall signing period with no scholarships available. (Cason Wallace, Dillon Mitchell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Brandon Miller) all guys they were hard after.
