Tennessee Vols Basketball Recruiting

Man...NIL has for sure muddied recruiting waters.

Guys who may not even start for a year or two and need to develop are asking to "be treated fairly" on deals. Hopefully some of them are at least realistic about it.

The whole team is getting paid. If I were a broke 18 year old, I’d want to understand it too. It would’ve upgraded my Ramen choices.

Yeah and that's fine. But even before NIL they were never "broke 18 year olds" I worked at TTU as a basketball manager and every guy on scholarship had a stipend and meal plan. The way they handled their funds for that was what meant they were eating Ramen.

But that's beside the point, I'm okay with everyone on the team getting paid from NIL. But I just hope "fair share" isn't "hey this 5 star 1 & done is getting a few hundred grand...where is mine?" from a guy that isn't on that level, ya know?

Haven't seen much online yet about how the Tyrese Hunter Texas visit went. The "free" message boards I found for Texas are dead. Anyone read/heard anything? I'd be interested if our staff feel they still have a shot here, or if they've moved on to trying to find another way to fill that last spot.

The people surrounding him are not high drama and not going over the top.

Per a source, Hunter will be on KU's campus on Tuesday for an official visit. It will be his final visit before the recruiting dead period which goes from May 19 to May 28. Not much info on him

“So, with that in mind, we can project KU to have one scholarship available. If Braun comes back, KU wouldn't have any open spots. If Wilson stays in the draft, KU would have two spots to work with. Right now, the first option appears to be the most likely.”

He’s visiting them on Tuesday. Currently have 1 scholarship and are recruiting 3 players.

Only 1 spot for 3 players definitely helps our chances. Although I would assume he is probably their #1 target. Still, he’s only going for 1 day and with the dead period on the horizon I bet we get an answer from him by the end of the week. It’s more than likely a huge long shot but man getting Hunter would make this team a true national title contender next year.

Did McCullar or Moseley visit them?
