I think PG is a much larger need than a lot seem to be making it out to be. I love ZZ, but I don't know if he can be Batman. He can be Robin, but I don't know that I want to head into a season with ZZ being the only true PG. I see BJE to be more of a combo guard, but I do think he and ZZ can share the floor together much like KC and ZZ did last year. However, depending on a true freshman is a tall task and he isn't as good as KC. We have already done the Vescovi as a PG experiment and I think we all agree we would rather him be off the ball and Key looks like a Victor Bailey replacement in that you hope he can come in with the 2nd unit and score. Yuri Collins would have been so perfect as the KC replacement, but I think it is imperative they add another primary ball handler to this team if they are to have a chance at reaching their potential.

Again, I think we’re arguing two completely different points. I never said this team wouldn’t be better off with another PG that can be in the starting role or “Batman” to ZZ’s Robin. The ONLY point I was arguing was the original one that we should pick up a depth piece that might get 5-10 MPG to spell ZZ or takeover if he gets injured. I don’t see how that makes the team better rather than waiting and keeping the scholarship open for a possible mid-year enrollee if we do find them.

I think every single person on this board agrees we need a PG if we can find one. Collins, Hunter, Lofton, etc. These are all options who would have been a perfect fit.

But, this hypothetical PG that was floated as a bench piece that is a notch below Likekele I’m not sure even exists right now. So, I don’t know who we’re even hypothetically talking about adding. It seems it’s Hunter or bust, IMO. And then we wait to see if any surprises opt to grad transfer as BTO suggested.

Yessir. We'd be much better next season. Hunter, Jefferson and Awaka to go along with Phillips. What a finish to a class that looked like it was dead in the water not too long ago. Incredible if it goes down like that.
