Just seems like they are the only one to swap out for a tougher opponent. And they have to travel the furthest every other year.
Alabama and Tn is like an old couple that fight, but really love each other.
It wouldn't be the same without those Crimson turds on our schedule and I think they feel the same about us.

SEC Announces Format For Future Football Schedules > SEC > NEWS
THE PERMANENT NON-DIVISION OPPONENT
Tradition matters in the SEC, and there is no denying that tradition was a significant factor in this decision because it protects several long-standing cross-division conference rivalries, said Slive. It has been a hallmark of the SEC over our history to be able to make continued progress while also maintaining traditions important to our institutions.
The decision to maintain a permanent non-division opponent also presents other advantages:
Creates annual cross-division rivalries that otherwise would not be annual games
Provides each team with a traditional opponent for the final weekend of the season
The permanent non-division opponents are as listed below:
Alabama (west) vs. Tennessee (east)
Arkansas (west) vs. Missouri (east)
Auburn (west) vs. Georgia (east)
LSU (west) vs. Florida (east)
Ole Miss (west) vs. Vanderbilt (east)
Mississippi State (west) vs. Kentucky (east)
Texas A&M (west) vs. South Carolina (east)
The way Butch is recruiting, we might just see Alabama two times a year. Once in the regular season. And then again in the SEC championship. Pay back is coming people.
Unless Bama misses on all the four and five star players they are signing they won't be easy to beat no matter how well UT has been doing under a Butch in recruiting, Bama has been going better, the last few years they almost seem to get whatever they want at any position. They are stockpiling top talent at unprecedented levels.
There is love there, buried deep below the hate
Its tradition
Its living everyday to see UT beat the Tide. Without them as a rival, it just wouldn't be the same

I could be completely wrong, but I don't think Alabama will be as good without McCarron. He was a lot better QB than he has been given credit for. Just my opinion
Glad we get to keep the Alabama game, but Ole Miss comes out smelling like a rose here. Guess we can't have it both ways.
Lol no we aren't. I like your enthusiasm, but having a good recruiting class ins't unprecedented. Having 4 years of back to back to back to back number one classes is insane, and I don't know if that's ever been done before.
If it didn't benefit bama , it never would have happened.
And I also think that since the league has expanded that the traditional rivalries are out of date. The teams in the East Division are not as competitive as the west .
