Tennessee vs. LSU in the Super Regional

You just know our guys are going to be locked in even more now, because they won’t be getting any attention and will get so much disrespect this week now. We’re going to be out for blood. And this willl just motivate them even more.
This and the old rumors of LSU targeting Vitello probably ticked them off. I’d argue that our players are hungrier than them.

Tennessee is the better team, but it's LSU at tournament time, so they're a dangerous opponent. Watch out for Dylan Crews. He's a big league talent and really seeing the ball well.

I get so tired of ESPN doing feel good and politically correct stories about many things. I had to mute Dick Vitale during the Vol BB games with his carrying on about just about everything not related to the game. It is as if the game wasn't even being played in many cases.

I’m already pissed that the NCAA would give them an extra day to travel and rest. Like others said, they shouldn’t have lost and played on Monday. Either way it don’t matter and I don’t matter. Let’s go steamroll these chumps.

Thank you for the heads up. Crews is a great talent. I'm sure he will have the Vols' full attention.

I hope Blade gets the rubber in Game 1. I like Dallas but he has given away more home runs this year than Oprah gave away cars. 23% of his hits have been bombs. I know that’s the age of baseball where everything is strikeout or homer but that still feels like a lot. Maybe having him pitch Game 2 with us up 1-0 will settle him down. We need to get ahead and stay ahead against this team.

Our system is not broken. Stay the course. We're a better team than LSU, just need to let it play out.

The same thought crossed my mind about Blade starting Saturday and then Cheese on Sunday. Curious to see what happens.

Personally , I ride the horses that i have been riding. Cheese , Blade and Heflin if needed....If we go into a game 3. I want my Senior Lefty on the bump. Yes, Chad has given up some HR's but his overall work has been Superb, Blade has been awesome and I hope he's pitching the Sunday game with a one game advantage in the series.
When I seen that LSU was in the Eugene Region , I figured we'd be playing them and at first i thought Dang....But then I thought , The only thing keeping this team out of OMAHA is LSU , a team that we have beaten 3 times.......NO THIS WON'T BE EASY......BUT this team is on a mission and I like MY TENNESSEE VOLS chances going to OMAHA.....it will be a battle, but whomever thought it wouldn't be wasn't thinking very clearly.... Let the naysayers keep saying NO to this team.....I look at it this way....UT has to be beaten twice to keep them out of OMAHA........that WILL NOT BE EASY EITHER.....WE DO US AND WE WILL BE FINE!!!

Yes we are the better team. There is no debating that. But the better team doesn’t always win in baseball. There is a reason the best pitcher always pitches opening day and Game 1 of a playoff series in the majors. They put the best pitcher on the mound in those situations. Blade has been the best starter this season so I think he deserves it. It’s nothing personal toward Dallas but Blade has been more consistent. If the offense has an off night after the long layoff like the first game of the SEC Tournament then we can’t have our starter giving up 3 bombs. I would rather Dallas pitch Game 2 just in case our bats need a game to get back into rhythm.

I’m not saying abandon the horses. Keep the same 3 guys but just switch the Game 1 and Game 2 starters. We are still riding the same horses, just on different days. Blade has proven he can handle the pressure. We can’t afford to go down 0-1 against an inspired team like this.

Just my opinion, but I’d start Blade game one too. I think he’s been our best the past month or so. I know we beat Marceaux earlier in the year, but he’s really good with an ERA under 3. Dallas has the propensity to give up bombs and LSU has loads of power.

I think winning game 1 is crucial and that gives us our best chance IMO. I get the thought if it ain’t broke don’t fix it as well though.

Tennessee is probably the underdog. We should still have a huge chip on our shoulders

We'll be the favorite on paper and in the betting markets, but we will be an overwhelming underdog in the media markets if that makes sense. The OddsShark might end up saying TN is favored, but you won't know it by reading the news this week. It's going to be ALL LSU the next few days.

No doubt about it

Gonna be tougher than playing Oregon. It'll take all 3 games.

C'mon Vols, bring your A game!!

What’s the reasoning for the extra day? Are there other series starting tomorrow n Saturday?

The good: We’ve already swept LSU, we got a 3 seed, LSU had to play the maximum number of games to get out of its Regional, battling to the last out, and even had to use its Friday starter.

The bad: LSU is playing for its retiring coach and may have gained some confidence/sense of purpose in winning 4 straight coming out of the loser’s bracket. Also, they have some talented freshmen who now have a season under their belts.

I like the Vols to win this, but it won’t be a cakewalk. LSU isn’t a typical 3 seed. What say y’all?

They played Monday, while we rested and prepared for Saturday. They'll travel to BR today all the way from the WC, and then have to travel again to Knoxville from BR, while we take the same time to rest and prepare for them. We'll be at home with our crowd. And we have Tony Vitello, and they don't.

I honestly think we match up better with lsu than Oregon...Oregon has quality pitching depth and alot hammers in the lineup and playing in Lindsey would have been a launching pad compared to what they play in...just from couple times I seen them and there numbers
