Tennessee vs. LSU in the Super Regional

The Friday/ Saturday series start days smartly coordinates with seeds and what day they would play in Omaha.
So Tennessee's first game will be on day #2 (Sunday 6/20/2021) of the World Series against the winner of the DBU/ODU series

So we know our side of the Omaha bracket will be:

DBU or ODU
ND or MSU
USF or TX

Playing Sunday 6/20/2021 then would play again Tuesday 6/22/2021. They lose any of those games; they would play Thursday 6/24 with bracket final Friday 6/25 and an if necessary game on Saturday 6/26. The 3-game final begins Monday 6/28

That's a really good mix of old and new and in-between among those 8 teams.

LSU better be the team Tennessee wants a piece of because I can promise you we are the one team they want a piece of! Get in the fight, or you’ll get knocked out

I'm sure our guys have plenty of motivation for this series.

1) Consistently told by LSU fans and the media that Vitello would drop them like a rotten egg for LSU if he is offered. Essentially, implying that the coach doesn't care about his team.

2) Paul Marinara-Sauce saying that Tennessee is nasty, and spending an entire interview segment complaining about how horrible LNS and it's fans are.

3) The fact that this team has had a wonderful season that deserves to be celebrated by the media, but instead you'll have 95% of the coverage centered on "Mienieri Magic" all week and you'll barely hear about the Vols.

4) Omaha is on the line.

Plus a bunch of other stuff I am forgetting. I highly doubt motivation will be an issue for our guys against the Tigers.

We have a lot to be thankful for. Appreciate Coach Vitello. Big changes in the footbball program. Excellent facilities except for the baseball stadium. Watching Arkansas's crowd/fans last night makes it clear that those facilities give you an advantage at home over whoever you are playing. Neyland does that for us in football when we are winning or close. We need to find the funds to build an Arkansas, or better, baseball stadium. I would say to the players that you HAVE changed UT baseball for good for some time to come. I have one more suggestion...we need a quarterly athletics appreciation program beyond the spring game in football. I would attend quarterly fan days that included players and coaches from all sports. Just a thought on how to improve this team, fan support, facilities, etc. Gov Vols...whoop those tiggers. GBO/VFL

Our entire team is highly competitive and loves to continue playing together. They know what's at stake this weekend. I'm confident they will be ready.

Agreed. Conversely, I'm pretty sure LSU would rather be facing any other opponent right now than the Vols.

Watched the end of UVA game, they will stay in Columbia, if I heard it correctly. I wish they would come home to Davenport, it’s a great field. Apparently, the NCAA told ODU they didnt have enough media facilities and tv set up. They certainly could have played in the Tides stadium. Still not sure if ODU put in an initial bid.
