Tennessee vs OSU?

Please no OSU, we don’t need a potential Heisman winner throwing against our secondary… 😂 we’d get torched

Speaking of Heisman candidates...
I was thinking during the Vol practice against Vandy last night about the Heisman. OSU's guy is pretty good. Ga.'s guy is the same, then you must think of Bama's guy but when you put all of them up against Hooker they pale by comparison. His numbers are as good as any I can ever remember and his leadership is as good on the offensive side of the game as you can expect. (that is all he can control) Not they the voters look beyond the field, but as a leader, excellent sportsman, and as he has shown a gentleman. I think he should not be excluded because of the past game or so. This also come to mind, is there someone out there other than a QB that stands out for the award?

Everyone wearing Orange Helmets
Sorry, in an unannounced launch last week, the University contracted SpaceX to provide a Falcon Heavy from Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center to shoot every Orange Helmet in our possession straight into the sun. Anyone at the University who ever suggests them again will follow on a subsequent one way mission

Clemson would be a good test of redemption since they lost to SC.
However I suspect players will sit out ...possibly Banks?

Would love to play Clemson. Their passing attack isn’t as scary. If we shut down DJU and Shipley from running, we can beat them.

No need to shut down DJU. He's horrible.
Shipley/Mafeh/Pace are another story at running back.

Clemson is actually a good matchup for the Vols. They a lit f their wins are by one score. They haven't played anything like our offense.

We’d get torched by Clemson with our secondary. 😂

Our starting QB is out so we need to temper offensive expectations accordingly. It looks like Milton has not changed his delivery from last year, which is hard to believe. His inability to hit an open receiver downfield takes away the heart of the offense. Over-throwing receivers is like hitting your putts short (never had a chance to drop), completely takes the receivers capabilities off the table. I assume he doesn't do this in practice so it must be an adrenaline response. He did look smooth getting lined up at high speed, no handoff mistakes and his short passes were more accurate and catchable.

If Hooker cannot win the trophy, the next best QB in the nation this season was Bryce Young.

I don't care about his team losing 2 big games, he shined in both of them and every game he played. Hate all things BAMA (almost hate B1G and their ESPN hype machine as much), but watching him play this season, he and Hooker were giants compared to the rest.

Caleb Williams who followed Lincoln Riley from OU to USCw.

I have openly stated he is the best QB in the nation. I still say this, but Hooker has had a better year. Wonder what Hooker would be with a team like Bama, Ga. Clemson (all with our wide and slot receivers)? Hard to imagine.

I had hoped Milton had learned to put touch on the ball, and on short passes he did okay, but he needs to learn that when there is fifty yards to the end zone, you can't throw for a seventy yard touchdown. Put more air under it or take some arm out of it.

We will be matched up with either Penn State, or OSU. Probably the Steve Spurrier Bowl.

I very much want Clemson in the Orange Bowl. 1. That's a fun matchup 2. I think we can curb stomp them.

Wrong, we are pretty much a lock for the Orange. You really need to look at the picking order. At worst we are going to be number 2 ranked sec team outside of playoff teams. We could even make sugar if Bama gets in playoffs with Georgia. I doubt it happens but it could. LSU will be below Tennessee in the next rankings. No way in Haiti we are going to citrus as you suggested we are going. It would take LSU beating Georgia for us to drop to cotton at this point. Much less citrus. GBO!

I'm going to hope that the wet ball bothered him somehow. He's been spot on in mop-up duty this year. If it was adrenaline, well you can't have an adrenaline rush all game long. That sure needs to get better, whatever the reason.

Can't argue with that because I don't really understand how bowl picking works. I looked at the Dec. 31 date and thought, it's not a NY date, and picked Citrus. Which, I'm sure, shows I have no idea about how bowl picks are done.

Good assessment. I agree. In order for this team to compete at a high level, the downfield threat must be legitimate. Milton negates that threat, which cripples the entire offensive system. The defense is who they’ve been all year.. below average.
