Yep. Some want to blame the fans or blame the refs. We've seen this disappearing act from several on this roster for years now. At some point, you just have to accept who and what you are as a team. Know some will take offense at my next comment, but I have to wonder if we might not have been better off if JJJ and Vescovi hadn't returned and Barnes was forced to use the freshmen.
#3 north Carolina just lost
And Georgia tech just beat unc, it happens
UNC lost on the road to a 9-11 team.I get the point, but we lost at home and were unable to score on our own court. Winning on the road with the target on your back is never easy. But we shot free throws and missed layups like the pressure was on us, when it should have been on South Carolina.
Yeah, me too. I had a rough day at work and didn’t leave until 6:15 (central). I totally forgot about the game until I turned on my car radio and heard good ole Bob on 104.5 zone. What a horrible day for Vol Nation. With all the BS about NCAA trouble (AGAIN) all over the news and losing to USC at home. Ugly day
I’m going to bed early and hope this nightmare goes away.
Don’t get on here if you’re overly sensitive. Not sure what even pressed your buttons. Nobody knows whether Barnes called for Knecht to take over, or if he did it instinctively. And yes, your issue is I have a differing opinion on the matter. Somehow you think I’m taking a shot at Barnes when I’m not. Games like these happen sometimes. That’s not really my issue. It is a community. Don’t be wagging yer member following a loss.

I was so frustrated with the game as Bob wouldn’t tell his listeners how much time was left in the game.
Then I got home and saw all the air balls, bricks, turnovers and missed fouls shots. Then I got to see the “ TN under investigation” headlines.
We can't get a favorable whistle at home. No way in hades we get anything but bent over at Rupp. Knecht can't score if he's on the bench with fouls or he's being mugged every time he touches the ball. As we saw tonight, Knecht won't beat many SEC teams by himself. We got 20 points from Aidoo, James, Vescovi, Zeigler and Gainey COMBINED. I'll have to trust Barnes judgment that guys like Dillione, Phillips, Carr and even Jefferson aren't ready, but I'm not sure they'd have been that much worse.Good news is UK plays zero defense so Knecht might score 50pts. That will be fun to watch at least.
Did you not see Barnes calling the offense in front of the bench?Don’t get on here if you’re overly sensitive. Not sure what even pressed your buttons. At some point I would like to see Barnes give min to a couple of freshmen. I know he gives minutes based on practice but maybe the younger guys will surprise him.I think we are better off with JJJ and Vescovi than without them. They are experienced, a big part of our culture, do alot of the intangibles and play Rick Barnes level defense.
If any of the freshman were worth playing, they would get some minutes. Barnes has been vocal about that and that minutes wouldn't just be given away but earned. They simply aren't there yet.
Yeah, but it could be worse. Just cherish each day and pray to God I wake up in the morning.…rough day for a Vol fan.
I do appreciate your civility. I welcome you as a brother. Barnes and staff need to recalibrate to being the target. This is where the great dynasties are defined.Don’t get on here if you’re overly sensitive. Not sure what even pressed your buttons. He played Estrella who missed a dunk. Let a guy drive by him to the rim then pushed him in the back sending him for 2 free throws, then Estrella made a lay in. A net (-2) points. At some point I would like to see Barnes give min to a couple of freshmen. I know he gives minutes based on practice but maybe the younger guys will surprise him.
I’m concerned with the lack of offense from JJJ and the inconsistency of our post play. Knecht looked exhausted and one can’t expect him to go full steam on offense and defense.
Wow. That's awful.Yeah, but it could be worse. Just cherish each day and pray to God I wake up in the morning.
It’s been a rough week as one of my good clients was diagnosed with colon cancer in December.
A month later the cancer had spread to the liver so it doesn’t look promising. It just pains me as he is around my age (52) with a wife and three kids.
But which freshman do you want to see?At some point I would like to see Barnes give min to a couple of freshmen. I know he gives minutes based on practice but maybe the younger guys will surprise him.

Good points. I missed the first half so can’t comment. I was making a general statement but I agree Dillione has struggled on the court. He played Estrella who missed a dunk. Let a guy drive by him to the rim then pushed him in the back sending him for 2 free throws, then Estrella made a lay in. A net (-2) points.
Dillione hasn’t produced anything all year with his minutes.
I’d prefer we play the guys that give us the best chance to win and it’s clearly not the freshmen.
Has the team become overly reliant on Knecht to carry them offensively? I don't know if that's it, or maybe it was just an off night .... but it happens - even at home.
