Tennessee vs Texas

Tennessee vs. Texas would be on sick bowl game

It happened in 1969. Texas went on to win the '70 national championship (except in Alabama where they claim something like 80 in a row). They were also known as the steers because ... well, you know! The longhorn thing didn't happen until the early 60's and was still transitioning. 69 Cotton Bowl - YouTube

I did buy 7.5 acres while I was down there. Got a great deal on some land in the hill country of Texas. If they leave the union I'm moving there.

I moved to Dallas two years ago...and from day one have dealt with the "real UT" bs. I have a chrome power T on my truck tailgate and everyone gives me the hook'em....oh how quickly they realize the color of my blood is not burnt.

I appreciate some of the historical facts though...i will definitely be using them in my next arguement with my die hard Texas fan Brother-in-law when he starts in.

I definitely miss TN and traveling to Knoxville for game day. May be 900 miles away but still cheering as loud as ever!

GBO!

Now... I'm not taking away what Tennesseeans did during that time... but you do realize that the war was really over when the alamo happened?

The alumni down here used to sell a T-shirt that had a SEC logo on the front and the wheel of the SEC teams at the time on the back. Above the wheel were the words; "The Biggest 12". I have worn that shirt out.

When I get a Power T hat, I always make sure that it has the little SEC logo on the side. I do not want to be confused with the short horns.

When they give you the hook'em horns, you should give em the unicorn.

No sir, I believe you might be confusing that with the Battle of New Orleans during the "War of 1812."

No. I'm not.

You realize that the alamo was a massacre? You realize that they were overrun by thousands of mexicans? The alamo was NOT a victory.

Neither of the forces at the alamo knew it but mexico had already surrendered.

(Insert factually lacking comment about the Texas Revolution here)

When the Mexicans came up and tried to saw through the border of Texas and Oklahoma, and float away with it, we sent Daniel Boone and Robert Neyland down there. They beat back the mexicans with nothing but pointy sticks they whittled with their teeth, saving Texas from the evil Mexicans.

The battle of the alamo happened after the war had ended.

I'm sorry, but that is quite nonsense. After Santa Anna and his Mexican troops left the Alamo, then they were run to ground and defeated by Sam Houston and his troops at the Battle of San Jacinto, to the east of present-day Houston. THAT was the end of the War of Texas Independence. So, how could the Alamo have been after the end?

Is this a joke? You can't seriously believe that.

Let me see if I can dig you up a little history lesson I posted here not too long ago regarding another topic. I think it'll clear up some of your confusion even if it was orginally intended to address another matter.

One second.
