Bumping this as a new whiskey drinker.
I haven't tried many options for sipping yet, but I did just finish a bottle of Gentleman Jack last night. I drink it on the rocks just because I like it cold, but I don't like when the ice melts and makes it watery.
I can say that I did like Gentleman Jack a lot, but I wondered if anyone might have other suggestions. Willing to try any bourbon or scotch suggestions, I just want something good for sipping, and not too terribly expensive.
Bourbon - Bulliet. Knob Creek. Angel's Envy is my favorite bouron.
Tennessee Whiskey - not a big fan.
Scotch Whisky - too many great ones to list. Balvenie Single Barrel 15 is the best overall value at $70-80, unless you get into Islay stuff - Laphroaig 10 can be found for $42 - it's an acquired taste. Campfire in a bottle, that stuff.
Absolutely. The Laphroaig 18 is one of my favorites. Uigedail is a monster. Got some Lagavulin 12 cask strength now among other items...
