Tennessee will be the most improved team of the SEC in 2014

The Vols will suprise many including a lot of our own fans. Stellar qb play due to our many new options , backed up by a better unheralded o line. The defense will solidify with improved speed and finally some coaching consistancy. Look out SEC here we come!

Yes! we will be the most improved; however, it won't show on our wins vs. losses. IT will show by our play on the field though but it won't equal more wins or losses.

So we will lose to the top ten by 3TDs instead of 5 .

I think the kids are just happy to have the same coaches for more than one season. I believe there will be much improvement this season, maybe not the SEC East champs but definitely bowl bound.

There is some truth in this post so allow me to explain it so the negative fans don't rip this one apart.

1. QB play will probably be generally improved by itself because, by all accounts, they've all improved dramatically, as players should from year to year.
2. Our WR core will be much better this year and that will make any QB look better, but the combination of big, fast receivers we have gives me great confidence when they take the field.
3. People act like this O line is all freshmen or something, there's one freshman and it's apparently not out of necessity. These guys are sophomores and juniors as well. Physical strength and conditioning won't be as big of an issue as some believe.
4. I don't know if RB play will exceed last year's production, but with the up and coming talents we have there it should be good enough to keep defenses honest.
5. With Chris Weatherd now on board and Maggitt and Johnson back, I honestly think we'll see a decent to good pass rush this year, which will be way better than the past few.
6. The D line may not be stellar, but it will be serviceable to decent
7. Emmanuel Moseley and Cam Sutton will be a great pair of CBs, and Randolph will provide at least one good safety. Our secondary could be pretty good.

Overall, these combined elements should propel us to AT LEAST a bowl game, and anything beyond that is a great surprise. The most important thing is, even slight on field improvement and us making a bowl game will make Jones's recruiting even more amazing once results are apparent.

Had we played a hair better in Georgia and Vandy games last year we would have won both. Why would you think better play won't translate to more wins?

I agree we will be improved...but don't expect a big turn around like the the barn had!

this

people seem to forget Auburns recruiting never dipped even though their on-field performance did. malzahn inherited a talent rich squad.

All we really need to get to is 7-5 or so and I think we would be recognized as "most improved." Likely need to win against either UF or @Ole Miss. Those are important.

I will drink to that and if it comes true will buy many rounds.:pepper:

I think the OL play will be as good as last year or better if they can find a LT.

I think play at WR, TE, and QB will improve. RB will be at least a wash.

I think the back 7 on D will be solid. If Saulsberry returns then I think the first 4 on the DL will be pretty good. Depth is a major, major concern on the DL.

The context here is my "expectations" of a 6-8 win team. If the expectation is to win the East then I just don't see the roster holding up to that.

Time will tell...you very well may be right...naturally i hope you are wrong. Maybe we don't win the east but like the l'tl scrapper said...you'll know i've been there!...
