I keep seeing these comments that Auburn is putting together a better class than Tennessee.
Where are you guys getting this crap from??!?!?!?
Tennessee verbals since Lane has joined---
Eric Gordon (schools that offered---Oklahoma, Alabama)
Arthur Jeffery (3* DT that was injured so he missed many offers)
Mike Edwards (named #1 CB in the state by Ohio Varsity)
Nyshier Oliver (verbal to Notre Dame)
James Green (schools that offered---Auburn, Ohio State, Ole Miss)
here's some of Chizik's prized signings---
Daren Bates (offered by Arkansas State, Central Arkansas)
Nosa Eguae (offeredy by Iowa State, Kansas)
Anthony Gulley (offered by Troy)
Izauea Lanier (offered by Troy)
Clint Moseley (offered by UAB, South Alabama, Marshall)
John Sullen (offered by Duke, Memphis, UAB)
Demond Washington (offered by Louisville, Memphis, Northern Illinois, Ohio)
David Oku and Aubrey Phillips--- If Oku wants to run reverses and trick plays at Auburn for Gus, then let him. Posters on VQ have been saying Aubrey isn't mentally tough for a while and if he goes elsewhere, we'll move on.
Is this really what it comes down to? They sign all these guys away from basketball schools and non-BCS conferences and people want to crown them recruiting kings? Are you f'ing kidding me?!?!?!?
We just got two of their commitments to campus this weekend in Jonathan Evans and Terrance Coleman and if neither switches commitments, then so what?
Rivals lists them as having 25 commitments. Some of these guys won't qualify and some will switch on signing day. They'll sign a couple more guys, but that's it. We're going to sign a few more guys and put even more distance between us and them. How can anyone compare our lists and think we're getting less-talented players?
Tennessee has 18 to Auburn's 25 commitments and we're still ranked ahead of them and we're not done yet. Who is putting this into people's heads?
We have a better class this year and I see no reason why we won't next year. The Trooper Taylor talk is getting old---he's gone and he isn't single-handedly going to change Auburn's fortunes.
Both schools will get better, but all this panicking over how awesome their class is because they're stealing all these small school kids is totally unfounded and absurd.
