Tennessee is going to need multiple, sustained trips to the twelve-team playoff to be considered "elite." Fleeting presence in the Top 5 of the AP Poll doesn't mean anything at the end of the day.

We are miles away from 2021 and the trend is up. In my mind top 10 are elite.

We're "elite" enough to serve this guy some crow.

I guess my point from earlier is that we havent yet proven the sportswriter wrong. Seems weird to resurrect an article from four years ago to say it's been disproven...when it hasn't.

No, being Top 10 is not the kind of Elite we're taking about.
