Tennessee would win the SEC East if Justin Worley were coming back next year.

I would not be suprised if Jennings is our QB next year

Based on nothing more than the very little I saw him in a televised HSFB game.... I'd be surprised if he isn't pretty quickly moved to another position once he's on campus. His delivery was pretty bad and he looked like nothing more than a great athlete playing the QB position.

I hope you are right and he's much different than that very brief observation.... but he didn't look like a guy who is ready to play QB at the college level much less in the SEC.

Until this season started, a bunch of you had written Worley off and basically called him a no talent bum who would "never" be an SEC caliber QB. A few of us argued with you and were called idiots or worse for our trouble.

I say this to claim some credibility before saying this.... Dobbs is going to be a very good QB for UT. He is VERY wisely being RS'd though I suspect that would be yanked if Worley were lost for the season.

Dobbs is very, very bright.

The team responds well to Dobbs.

He's a good athlete.

He shows good poise under pressure.

His problem IMO is that he increased his size and strength so quickly that he is having an adjustment period with his passing accuracy. If he's the character we've been led to believe then he'll continue to work until he masters his body again... then watch out.

As much as I love what Worley has done... in spite of the doubters... I think Dobbs could end up doing more and being more impressive. Imagine his intelligence with a better arm than Worley and great wheels.... surrounded by great playmakers.

No doubt in my mind, if Worley returned next year, we win the East. Hell if he didn't get hurt for 3 series against GA we would have a great shot at the East this year.

This, you see what the coaches have done to mentor and develop Worley who has very similar passing ability of Josh Dobbs.

Josh is going to end up being the QB that leads TN back to national prominence.

Dobbs is going to walk into a situation next year where he will be just asked to manage the offense. We literally lose 0 impact players off our offense. All current receivers that are playing will be back. TE's, OL all back. Lane is probably the biggest loss and he is at best going to finish the season 2nd string RB.

Not to mention Hurd, Scott, Malone, Pearson, North, ect will all be one year more mature and ready to dominate.

Then you bring in a JUCO stud like Kamara and Preston Williams to add into the equation and the other SEC coaches are gonna be like :banghead2::banghead2:

Agree Eric.... the difference IMO between a good O and a GREAT O next fall won't be the QB position. It will be the LT position. Kerbyson needs to be a OG again. UT needs a real LT. I'm not sure who the candidates might be. It appears that Blair isn't getting it.

it isn't only Worley that will be missed ,AJ will be gone,Darr,Coleman,Young,Williams,
Gilliam is all ready done for the year,a lot of leadership will be gone, especially AJ

more young players will be called on to take a leadership roll,it will be great once CBJ can red shirt some freshmen and not have to look for them to play right off the bat

CBJ and company are still a few years away for making a run at the SEC East Championship,to me any way,but they are on the right track for sure

Worley and AJ will be the only guys truly missed in 2015. AJ has started for 4 years and its time for him to take his talents to the NFL. IF he survives this year's OL, Worley will have started 1.5 years. He doesn't have an NFL future although I could see him doing well in the MMA as he's proven to be one tough hombre this season.

I think CBJ should petition the NCAA for Worley to receive a hardship waver for a 5th season. Any QB that had to endure CDD was certainly a hardship.

I think 7-1 is highly doable in the SECe next year.

Who do you see as the probable loss? With continued development of the guys who aren't playing this year, the returning guys, and the infusion of another great recruiting class... I think the Vols could win them all.

AJ is the biggest loss on D. By then, UT should be pretty deep with LB contributors. Randolph is another hit but the young safeties look as smart as they are talented. I appreciate Jordan Williams in every sense of the word.... but he's going to be replaced with guys who are far more talented.

This year's depth chart holes are very quickly being filled in.

Per Foxsports...

The more I think about Dooley burning Worley's redshirt for one series of handoffs, down 31 points from the TN 1 yard line, the more I think:

I would love to have Worley next year. Because of have thought without a doubt he was Tennessee's best QB last year and obviously this year.

But I was actually impressed with Peterman in the UGA game. He showed he has excellent velocity on his passes, he looked calm in that game and wasn't rushing things. He was under pressure everytime he passed.

One other thing, he will have this year, spring practice, the summer, and fall practice to get better. I'm not worried about next year's QB.

I don't know about you, but this coaching staff seems to me they are excellent in developing players!!!

IDK I believe in this staff's ability to prepare whoever will be under center even if it's Peterman. How many players have we thrown under the bus and thought were terrible only to be proven wrong (Palardy, Smith, Worley etc)? Dobbs, Peterman or one of the two freshmen, I feel like whoever starts will give us a good shot to win next year.

Peterman will be fine.

I like Peterman. I think he's a great character guy with some physical ability. But he has an unbroken tendency to panic when under pressure.

IMHO, Dobbs will be the guy for the next 3 years and will be very, very successful.

I must have watched that same game. Jennings is a great athlete, just not sure he'll be a qb at UT.

I think we can win the East this year. I think GA will lose two more games...AU and Arky. We just need to handle business on our end. What a story book turn around that would be.

Give me some kf what you're drinking. Would be nice if it happened, but that means running the gauntlet minus bama in our remaining SEC games

What if Peyton Manning had one more year of eligibility.....

Deal with reality, rather than "what if's"....IMO

Randolph is a stud too.

He's a junior who will be back next season...get to enjoy his play a bit longer. Solid college player who probably doesn't have the NFL combine type of numbers that would justify a high draft pick.

Wow. I forgot that he was granted a RS.

He's a big key with AJ leaving. He's a guy who can QB the D. I wonder if Maggitt will move inside?
