Tennessee would win the SEC East if Justin Worley were coming back next year.

Until this season started, a bunch of you had written Worley off and basically called him a no talent bum who would "never" be an SEC caliber QB. A few of us argued with you and were called idiots or worse for our trouble.

I say this to claim some credibility before saying this.... Dobbs is going to be a very good QB for UT. He is VERY wisely being RS'd though I suspect that would be yanked if Worley were lost for the season.

Dobbs is very, very bright.

The team responds well to Dobbs.

He's a good athlete.

He shows good poise under pressure.

His problem IMO is that he increased his size and strength so quickly that he is having an adjustment period with his passing accuracy. If he's the character we've been led to believe then he'll continue to work until he masters his body again... then watch out.

As much as I love what Worley has done... in spite of the doubters... I think Dobbs could end up doing more and being more impressive. Imagine his intelligence with a better arm than Worley and great wheels.... surrounded by great playmakers.

I cannot believe how accurate Worley is now . He has really improved . His fortitude in the pocket has to be catching the eye of NFL scouts. I too believe that Dobbs will shock the nation next season.

It was at the end of the first half when an unsportsmanlike penalty was called on UT bench. UT players celebrated when JRM sacked Driskell for a seven yard loss.

It wasn't for celebration.

One of the UT coaches went to leave the field and ran into the side judge spotting the ball. So he threw a flag for him being "on the field" even though he just clearly was taking off to the locker room. IMHO the ref threw the flag because it made him mad the coach ran into him and basically because he could.

The replay clearly showed when and why it happened and even the ESPN guys pointed it out. So that is why Jones was saying what he did and he was 100% correct.

I'm very confident in this staff's abilities to have Peterman or Dobbs ready by next year. It needs to be one of them as both will already know the system and will smooth the transition.

Funny, no one mentioning this is actually a Clay Travis article? It's only a "Fox Sports" article because they host his Outkick the Coverage site now.

I'm not ready to completely give up on Peterman yet. Hard to judge a QB who has had so few snaps and all of them were in pressure situations, and no help from his o-line.

I agree with most of this. Idk how good he is going to be, but I do think he is being redshirted this year in hopes he takes the reigns next year and we won't have to start a true freshman. Smart move by Butch to not pull a Dooley and burn his red shirt when the injury wasnt serious.

Give me some kf what you're drinking. Would be nice if it happened, but that means running the gauntlet minus bama in our remaining SEC games

It could happen. Minus Bama, who scares you? Bama looks beatable this year. Gone is that aura of invincibility that they once had.

Dooley really is the gift that keeps giving.

This, on top of not taking a single OL in a class? Seriously?

I know we should move on, but damn he's made it difficult.

I thought herpes was the gift that keeps on giving. I guess the two really are interchangeable.

No one in the East is scary to me.

However I doubt we're that scary to many to either. Except Vandy.

Really? We were very close to beating the team everyone expects to win the east. Yet we're not scary to anyone in the East?

K. Makes sense.

So we're not supposed to be scared of anyone in the East but everyone is supposed to be scared of us?

Yeah that makes sense too.

Don't count out this team next year already. They are going to have a killer defense and a great run game and if they can find a quarterback who doesn't turn the ball over they will be formidable.

Yeah that makes sense too.

The difference is that there is a certain mystique with UT, an ancient power return from the depths. You don't have that with UGA, UF, USC, Mizzou

I'm a believer in Dobbs.

I think he showed a lot of promise as a freshman, but he also made A LOT of true freshman mistakes.

The guy came in cold as essentially the 4th-string QB against Bama in Tuscaloosa and looked pretty decent considering the circumstances. He didn't really put it together again until the Kentucky game, but his long TD run there was impressive. He easily outran the UK secondary and he threw some great passes in that game, too.

Plus, he looked much improved in the O&W game.

Overall, Dobbs is a better fit for this offense than Worley, although Worley sure is making the best of it right now.
