tennessee's biggest problem

So you're saying keep BP and let the NCAA cripple the program? If we keep him, the NCAA is gonna take that as a slap in their face and penalize us A LOT harder than if we were to cut ties with him.
Trust me, I realize he's been the best thing for UT hoops in a long time. As much as I'd like him to continue to be our coach, the penalties would set the program back much further than if we just part ways with him. It sucks, really bad, how this one minor secondary violation turned into multiple major violations and ending his career here as well as putting the program back years and back to mediocrity.
Hope we can find a diamond in the rough to take the job and get us back on track will dealing with sanctions. Maybe we can find another Dooley out there that will come in, embrace the traditions and be a man of character and integrity so we wouldnt have to worry about him lying to the NCAA.

This. Those of us who think he should go don't argue his success here, it just doesn't blind us to the reality of the situation. Noone reserves the right to cripple the program. Can't figure it why people can't grasp this. Pearl's fate has nothing to do with bball. Those who are upset about this, should be blamIng Pearl and Pearl alone

This + 1. Pearl has not shown any ability to handle a half court offense successfully.

They have a few guys that can play transition just fine. They have one that can play both styles - Harris. You have a few others that are half courters only. The rest I have no idea why they were recruited or which they are best at. That is a recipe for what we got this year - no indentity and much frustration.

I don't know enough about the game to say one way or the other, but the point guard situation since CJ left has to have had a negative impact. PG recruiting or offensive system, it's still CBP's responsibility, but CBP's teams have traditionally been pretty good offensively. Maybe it's just always been the turnovers and transition.
