Tennessee's depth

I am reading now that Dubar (or his handlers) is upset over lack of pt. I can understand that
and I don't understand why it appears that he is in coach's doghouse. We really need all
hands on deck. Can't blame a senior transfer for complaining when he isn't getting pt. He's
looked good when he plays.
Source? Can you provide a reputable link? Otherwise, (if known click bait hazard) no linkie.

Following up on this, doubt Rick would be singing praises if Dubar was making issues. Look at his last press conference:

"But really happy with D-Stone (Darlinstone Dubar) tonight. He didn’t get in the second half just because of the flow of the game, the matchups, everything we had to go with. And I just know that Igor (Milicic) and Felix (Okpara) and Cade (Phillips) and D-Stone are really going to be a big part of us going forward. And I tell them every day they’ve got to get better, but we all got to get better.”

"Every year is different but every guy we have right now, we’re expecting them to be a big part— I’m really impressed with DStone the last week. He’s really made some great strides. We continue to try and work him at multiple positions but defensively he’s really had a great week this past week. We’re getting better and we plan on doing that.”

The truth is probably somewhere in between. Basilio exaggerating but, in this climate, it wouldn’t be a surprise if “handlers” are complaining. Whatever it is, Dubar has no options. Unlike Carr, he’s out of eligibility after this year, so he better buy in, and soon. He can earn some decent minutes.

"Nega Dave called the Garza Law Postgame for hoops on Dec 23rd and said he heard that Darlinstone Dubar was agitating like he wanted to get out. I told Dave I hadn't heard that but would check. I did. Dave was onto something. I hear Rick Barnes is letting Dubar's people know that he has zero interest to play with him or placate him if it comes to that. Barnes has to feel like a glorified babysitter all these years later. Rick Barnes gets max credit for the way he's adjusted to the current game but this is getting absurd. Imagine what's going through his mind when he hears that Cam Carr is going to take his ball and go home."

"Meanwhile Dubar isn't happy but he's out of options meaning he can't transfer anywhere if he leaves. Yet his folks are agitating. I mean this whole thing is getting very silly. Nobody blames any of these athletes for any of this but it's nearly impossible to follow and it's getting harder and harder to invest in something so fleeting. At what point do fans reach the point of Larranaga and say what's the point? It's getting there. We need multi year deals for these athletes ... and soon ..."

@bleedingTNorange what do you think? Feels kinda like bs, no? Has this dude ever been honest?

Dubar plays Igor and Mashack's best position the 4. If Dubar had some versality to play the three, he would be getting more playtime. Dubar lacks the ballhandling skills to play the 3.

Do I think Dubar could be disappointed with his current role? Sure. Do I think he also realizes he missed weeks of practice leading up to the season and then missed time with an injury, putting him behind and of no fault of the staff? Absolutely. Feels like Basilio reaching for clicks, nothing new.

i honestly felt like that is what was going on at the beginning of the season with dubar & that he was gonna leave. i will say, i do feel like dubar should get more playing time. really every game he has played, he gave us good minutes. he plays hard and can rebound very good. i was confused last game after he came in and hits a 3 then doesn’t play the rest of the game?

There was primarily personal stuff going on + injury that kept him sidelined.

This. Come SEC play and Tourney time anyone getting it done on the court will be out there.
Dubar at least appears to have been trying to show his worth on court.

My only concern about all this Dubar stuff is the effect on team chemistry in the
locker room. There is enough already going on with the Carr situation, we don't
need more bs coming from the Dubar camp that may cause disruption.

I don’t think there’s anything more to it than Dubar wants to play more, which is completely reasonable.

How this gets turned into “he’s agitating” is just Basilio being Basilio and trying to create drama on the heels of the Carr exit. Pretty low class, but completely on brand.
