I've never developed "hate" for Pearl. I liked him until he got sleazy after the BBQ. Hell, he often stated how much he loved it here. After the fact. Funny, so did Kiffin, even more so. It will be a frozen day in hell before either one of them ever get near this University again. Both Pearl and Kiffin are good coaches who F'ed up bigly while here. In two entirely different manners too. They were ultimately the reason both teams had huge setbacks afterwards. Thank Goodness we got Barnes to right the ship in Men's basketball. As a head coach, he exuded a professionalism we hadn't seen from the other head coaches. We cool. I like Pearl and you hate him. Puts us on opposite ends. Alcohol definitely brings out the dog in you.

Pearl made phone calls after he was issued an ultimatum to not contact players. No, not every coach defies the administration after being given an ultimatum. Your narrative of it is BS. As it turned out, he reverted to some sleazy behavior similar to earlier in his career. It's clearly on the record unlike your account of it. Comparing that to Barnes' activity with UCLA is ridiculously stupid. They courted him in the off season. He entertained it. Thankfully Randy Boyd made it a temporary fancy for Barnes. Barnes treats Bruce very well.Kiffin handled it like a spoiled kid.
Pearl handled it like every other coach behind closed doors does but our AD was weak and anti tn sports at the time and hung him out to dry. College sports is sleazy. Barnes may be less sleazy but it isn’t at UCLA not for trying. He would be gone if they hired him. Pearl would have retired here. Why I like Pearl more.

Wanting to believe Pearl would have retired here is one thing (if not naive), but exclaiming he would have explicitly done so is fan fiction merely to solidify one's hopeful recollection of his time here. Maybe he'd have stayed at Tennessee forever, but he entertained discussions with Memphis while he was still here.Kiffin handled it like a spoiled kid.

Right or wrong, I still blame Kiffin for our football program having to spend 40 years in the wilderness. Nobody in football or basketball I like seeing lose more each year than him.I've never developed "hate" for Pearl. I liked him until he got sleazy after the BBQ. I think all that will drown out come SEC play. If Dubar is playing like I believe he can, he'll definitely be getting some minutes. My only concern about all this Dubar stuff is the effect on team chemistry in the
locker room. There is enough already going on with the Carr situation, we don't
need more bs coming from the Dubar camp that may cause disruption.
Someome can correct me if I am wrong, but it's the last year here for ZZ , Mayshack, Gainey, D-Stone, Milicic, and Lanier.
We essentially don't have anyone from the front court coming back next year.
Yeah, got those switched up a little, My bad. Guards back and Center/Forwards front.Front Court = Bigs, so we'll return Cade (SO), JP (SO) and Felix (JR)
Back Court = Guards, we'll return Bishop (FR)
I love Dubar's upside...he makes plays on both sides of the ball and has a physical presence that I like.Coach Gainey on D-Stone today:
"No. We’re not worried about it at all. We’re not. We feel like every guy on our roster can come in and contribute in some fashion. And so if you look at scholarships right now, we’re at nine, I think. And so we feel like all nine of those guys, could come in and perform. They’ve shown that they can. I mean, you look at Bishop at Illinois. I mean, huge impact. Multiple offensive rebounds, few assists. He guarded. Dstone, he’s still scratching the surface of who he’s going to be. And those are two guys that hadn’t been in the rotation for different reasons. Dstone had the personal issues, and then he had the concussion, which kinda slowed him down a little bit."
Seems like staff is still high on Dubar re: Basilio comments...
