Do we get a 3rd shot at Kentucky in S16?
If we do the key to that game is driving the the ball to the hoop. It's been Kentucky's weakness all year and we have just got to exploit it.
Even getting close to a shooting contest with them is going to be another L for us.

That all said, of course we we have to shoot better from 3. We shot abysmal both games against them and that cannot happen again.

Kentucky is not a good team if they aren't making the 3 in a high clip, so on defense we have got to do better there too; but just driving to the basket we ought to be able to get the win.

In both games despite how great they shot and how poorly we shot, we barely lost both of them. Just a couple of plays in both games from getting the dub.
We just shoot decent from 3, and IMO we win easily like Bama did this last go around.

Them shooting 50% from 3 both games against us was some BS. It was the only way UK beats us. If they shoot 40% from 3 and they lose both games.

I believe that. I believe it is hard for anyone to argue otherwise, too. We ought not fear this Kentucky team. I honestly believe the players don't and if that game happens are going to be champing at the bit for some revenge.
Our guys here have a lot of pride, so I don't think a potential 3rd loss to KY is going to be lost on them/ taken lightly.

If the favorites win every game (won’t happen) we would have to beat these teams to win the natty.
Wofford UCLA UK Houston Duke Auburn.
Root for upsets.
Mistake. Never look ahead.
This is a one game at a time and spread the minutes around as much as possible ... to reduce wear and keep players as rested as possible.
Two game tournament mentality.
Fan's look ahead ...when players do that ... disappointment shows it's ugly face.

Even as a fan, I’ve learned over the years to never look ahead. lol

One game at a time.

I will assume that we will not see a single SEC ref during the tournament.
Is that a rule?

Doug Shows I never want to see again. Should be gone.
He Reffed 5 of our games this year. @ Florida and SEC Championship,
@Auburn (had CRBs throwing a water bottle), @Ole Miss @Missouri. Our Record over those 5 games was 1-4. In each game (except @ FL) he played a key role in the outcome. 80% of the games he reffed in we loss. Let that sink in.

I’m not going to say that officiating was any reason why we got beat like we did @Florida. And @Ole Miss it was our own fault for not stopping 1 dude. The rest, yeah screw em. Never been a fan of him, Joe Lindsay, Pat Adams, or Don Daily.

I just want the games to be called fairly.
I really believe we have the advantage on most teams if it is called equal. We know how to play great D without fouling for the most part.
It definitely helps our depth issues, too.
Being short in that department we can't afford any phantom calls.

It's the thing I hate most about college basketball. The refs can easily keep the best team from winning.

I'm not sure we want that. Beat us on our home court decidedly. Beat us in Rupp for our revenge game decidedly. Had important players missing. I don't know what we think we'll have on a neutral setting that would different.

You do realize what your asking of them, right. 😳😊

With NIL, transfer portal there will be less and less upsets in the first two rounds of tournament from here on out. The billionaires that now officially own College Sports, desire only big name teams to go forward. The drama of "is North Carolina going to get in", was nothing but made for TV reality show. They were not in danger. TV ratings for North Carolina exceed TV ratings for Boise State basketball. The mid majors and lower are going to lose their best players every year to Transfer Portal. And NIL means best HS players will almost never go to a mid-major. College Sports is now headed into the dumpster, just like the Pro game.
Hate to break it to you, but just because you don't like the NBA, doesn't mean it's in the dumpster

186 miles from Lexington to Indianapolis
357 miles from Knoxville to Indianapolis
It wouldn’t be a neutral setting.

Auburn will not beat MS. Florida will be playing Houston for the Championship. I hope we do not play Kentucky as that is a bad matchup for us.

Interestingly, the Evan Maya simulations give Wofford a 1/20 chance to beat us, which is a bit better than expected.

But UCLA only has a 1/4 chance, roughly, of beating us. And that is actually pretty good comparatively. We have 6th best odds to make sweet 16 (roughly 72% chance)

And 5th best odds to make the Final Four (25%)

Also interestingly, the analytics obviously love Gonzaga. So Houston has worse odds to advance to the Sweet 16 than we do.

I could see it. Houston skates by the skin of their teeth a lot of games.
You let lower seeded teams hang around in March and it's a nice way to get you an early exit.

It will be tough, BBN travels. You could play in China and they would be there.
It's because Basketball is all they got. They know they don't have to worry about making time or spending money on any Football or Baseball tournament games.
Bless their heart tho, they did finally make it to a college world series last year. Hopefully that brief appearance cuts into their fans NCAA travel budget this year.
