I want Wofford, UCLA, Kentucky, Houston. We should breeze thru this region. Only team I’m slightly worried about is Houston, and boy I can’t wait to end Kentuckys season and BBN will go home crying

You know damn well Coach Barnes wants those bastards also. I cannot view this as a success without getting the chance to send them home.

Right in front of their 40,000 BBNs.

We can definitely beat those blue b@stards.
They shot ridiculous both games and barely beat us. We were winning by 3 late in that second game despite shooting almost as bad from the 3 as we did in the first game. We play our game instead of theirs, and it should end for almost as bad for them as their SEC tournament loss ended.

That said, it's always possible they catch fire with a horseshoe up their a$$ and send us packing. I mean that can happen with about anybody when one team gets crazy hot from 3. I don't think they get lucky 3 times in a row, but if they did it would be devastating for us fans, the team, and Barnes.

Again, I don't think it is likely at all, but just that chance has me hoping Troy/Texas/Xavier/Illinois one of those guys puts them out before we end up seeing them.

If we end up playing them again, it will be interesting to see if they can shoot that well in a domed stadium versus a traditional arena.

While it's true bigger schools are now going to have super team type stuff, not everyone who goes into the transfer portal is going to find a team. Remember Tyrese Hunter? Big name in the portal not too long ago. Ultimately, went to Texas over us. Isn't he playing at Memphis now? I think it gives mid majors a chance at getting better players they wouldn't typically get because of the portal overload

Memphis is not a mid-major in Basketball by a long shot, they were one of the only teams challenging UCLA back in the Wooden days.
If you just look at UT the last 2 years, they got N Florida Lanier = N Florida didn't make the tourney. The year before UT got D Knecht and N Colorado did not make the tourney. You can extrapolate that all across the country and the teams that make it in because autos are nothing compared to teams back in the day when a player would not sit a year to go play at P4. That would never happen in this atmosphere. Back in the day they just stayed and finished it out at say, like a dude did at Davidson, remember S Curry best shooter ever.

If you look at their year, they shoot it well but vs us they had players that had their best games some of the freshmen. I think it was a bit of anomaly, I know if I was on the other end, and we beat a team that was rated higher than us twice. I would dread playing them for the 3rd time in the post season.

Unless you have a team like UConn last year, which we don't, teams in the NCAAT very rarely "breeze through a region."

I don’t think I’d ever get over a third straight loss to UK. It seems like they just “clicked” whenever they played us this year but couldn’t play that way against the rest of the SEC ..

Well, right, I obviously don’t think we are the UCONN of 2025 but who really scares you in this region? None of the teams really scare me. Houston is the best and I do think if we play them in the Elite 8 that game would go down to the wire honestly. However, I picked Gonzaga to beat them in the second round 😅 so let’s wait and see

Weirdly, I don't want to see Texas for a third time. We've actually played them three times through last year's NCAA Tournament and all had them close with us at the end. Too many close games and they're bound to snip one from us, plus they have a guy who can go off on teams without much recourse for a team to handle him. They played us tight until running out of gas due to a third game in three days for them last week. I'd just as soon not see them again.

Hard to beat a team 3 times they say so that would go for us as well as KY, but if I had to choose Texas or KY, I'm taking Texas all day.

Nobody in the tournament scares me. Houston was my pick to win it all before Selection Sunday. I hate that we’re in their region.

I don't either really, but if we did make it to the final 4 or Championship I'm sure there will be some people to remind him of it.
I may or may not be one of them. 🙂

I'd rather our team be underrated than overrated by the media/pundits, tho. Better for them find something to get a chip on their shoulder about than the get big head.
