You're right. The whole world is delusional when it comes to UT but you and UTVOLKeith are the sane ones. I'll check back with you in December after you've posted "fire Butch" about 800 times for not meeting your ridiculous and unrealistic expectations.

And there it is folks. Nothing more to be said.

8 wins is unrealistic and ridiculous? :eek:lol:

Butch gets 4 years. You get zero radio shows.

You're nothing more than a fan on a message forum. Know your place.

At least tell me you aren't one of these people that thinks we go 4-8 this year.

But we are winning 7+
:eek:lol:

12 games in a season plus a bowl, correct?

So if we lose to all 6 teams on this list and win all of our other games, that would give us 6 wins. A bowl would give us 7. Upsetting ONE of these teams could be our 8th win.

There's no way we are losing 8 games. I think fade would agree with me on that.

We can win the east this year, don't think it will happen but we will be in every game!!

Win the East: NOPE!
Upset OK in Norman: NOPE!

We can upset a couple of SEC teams but not OKL in Norman & we certainly won't win the East this season either. I have high hopes for this team but we have to be realistic as well. We could win 8 games if things fall our way. We could also lose 7 games if things don't fall our way.

I don't see us losing more than 7 games though unless you include a bowl game. Anybody suggesting we win more than 8 games in the regular season is on a pretty high horse! :p

I have no expectations for this year. However, I will offer that many of these teams could easily have the same type of season as UT in 2005. As we know, preseason rankings are not the best indicators of what to expect.

A key injury here or suspension there, and most on this list could struggle, especially when they face the Vols.

On a related note, who but a few optimistic fans around Columbia, MO last August would have believed that Missouri could go 12-2 and end the year ranked #5 after playing in the SEC Championship game? Strange things happen every season. Here's hoping a little luck comes our way.

I just look forward to UT getting better each week.

all you guys have a good case for # of wins and loses. I'm just excited to see those young guys out there with this energy and desire. Just stop and think we have line backers who can out run last years defensive back, receivers and backs. We have new players out there that are going to play a lot of ball and play it well. It just excites me to no end....GO VOLS

The AP poll was released and here's Tennessee's ranked opponents:

#2 Alabama
#4 Oklahoma
#9 South Carolina
#12 Georgia
#18 Ole Miss
#24 Mizzou

Side note: Florida just missed out at 27 and Vandy and Utah State got a vote

We can win any of them from #9 and below. We did that last year.

Sad thing is people will be asking for Butch's head after this season. I don't think he should be put in the hot seat until 2016 if we have a losing seasons. Give the man time to work.

I'm hopeful for a 7-5 season, but just looking at reality we might come out with a 4-8.

My biggest hope is they(Vols fans) leave Butch alone. We are Tennessee, everyone at ESPN, SEC, and every other team hates our guts, our songs, our colors. We wont pop out a 12-0 season just because we feel entitled to it. We will have to work for it and that wont happen by getting a new coach every two years. He cares about the team and wants to be good. Let him work with our boys for a few years.

6-6 is reasonable, 5-7 is possible with a rash of injuries and 7-5 is possible with some good luck. 8-9 regular season wins just defies logic.

I don't think 8 is such a stretch that it is out of the realm of possibility... just improbable. A season that sees us return to a bowl continues the positive momentum Butch has created. Can't raise the Titanic with one recruiting class.

Easy solution! We beat them all and have the best season in the history of college football.
