It appears that Stewart will announce at Indy that he'll indeed buy into Haas and Newman will go along with him. It'll also appear that the DEI transformation will continue with Teresa selling. Martin Truex better get out of there, I'll have no sympathy for him as he rots away in the organization.

Jayski is reporting UPS to Bowyer (RCR), Office Depot to Stewart (Haas) and Jack Daniels to Newman (Haas)... I think Tony would be the better Jack Daniels fit

also Stremme or Mears to the 12

one more, caterpillar to Burton

If Penske takes Stremme then he's crazy. David's a good guy but one of the worst and most overated drivers in the sport

he is only signed with DEI through the end of this season, and i had kind of hoped he would be reunited with jr. at hendrick, but I guess that's out the window now, but hopefully he's looking for a new home too, DEI seems to be falling apart

I think that is unfair at this point. It's hard to really tell who can and cannot drive when you consider the team and equipment they have. The junk he was driving at CGFSR should not keep him from another opportunity.

home depot? blah for their sponsorship. ugly car. i do like tony's old spice car in nationwide. wish he'd drive that, or even the jack daniels.

if Penske would go:

Sam, Helio and Briscoe in the IRL

and

Kurt, Mears and Stremme in NASCAR

i think both of his programs could benefit tremendously. Truex would another nice Penske addition, if it happens.

I didn't see the sale of DEI coming this soon, but then wouldn't be that surprised. I may be proven totally wrong, but I don't see success for the Stewart-Haas deal even with Newman. You read it here first!

i'm on the fence with the Stewart/Newman/Haas deal. on one side, i think it's stupid to voluntarily walk away from Roger Penske. on the other, his NASCAR success isn't the same as his other teams in other series, who have been more successful.

as for Tony, i'm sure he stands to gain a substantial amount of money in this deal. he's probably starting to think about life outside of the car, and this is a better way to move into ownership than to start your own team from scratch. obiviously, with Smoke and Newman, there is going to be a lot money put into upgrades. i still say he needs to make another few runs at the real trophy he wants, the Borg-Warner.

will either of them win a championship? i doubt it. will they run better next year? i 100% believe so.

Newman might be overall more competitive, but I don't think Stewart will be. But I don't foresee any real success for the team. No one has been successful as an owner/driver since AK/Mighty Mouse. Active drivers just cannot wear the owner's hat too, there is a built-in contradiction to it. Now if Smoke can manage to leave the business side and team management to someone else, it might work, but I'm betting he cannot do it.

sorry, i meant will they run better next year as the Haas team than the Haas team has this year.

overall, the two will be more successful that the current stable of drivers, but they won't set the NASCAR world on fire.

Haas uses Hendrick equipment, right?? I cant wait to see how they perform... Im interested to see if the lower ranked drivers are really that far behind the big dogs or if their equipment is lacking that much

Yep,that will be interesting. Is it the driver or is it the equipment debates are always a hot topic.

I can't see DEI being sold. Why would Theresa go to the extent she did last year to stay the owner and letting Jr go only to dump the team this year.

Further proof that I believe it's money. It appears Paul Menard wants out at DEI. I guess multi-billionaire John Menard and Teresa aren't that "close" anymore

Speaking of DEI, goodbye Truex. Your chase is over and hopefully your employment at DEI is as well. You deserve better. Where does the 150 point penalty move him to in points? Anyone?

Truex is 18th in points now, 238 back. As for Paul Menard wanting out, good. What's he done other than lead 15 laps at Daytona, which was more than he had ever lead before.

I also think if Teresa wants sell DEI she should give Tony Stewart a good deal on it. Just to stick it to Dale Earnhardt Jr. one more time.
