from what i undestand no concrete info on any big 12 teams until earliest tues. Most likely nothing official until the end of the week and it seems anything is possible.

last season we were somewhere around $20 mil/ school....a new contract with more schools, more markets, wider national footprint could easily add another 5 million per

we made 17 mil per school; the Big 10 was already at $22...

I dunno it is possible, but the new contract wouldn't come till the old one expired....still we would have to make, with it being divided up between 14 teams....around 350 mil.

That's $150 mil more than the conference made this year

...I think it's still going to be a while longer before those numbers are hit

IDK about $25 million either, but once we add or lose a team in the conference, the contract can be renegotiated again... Doesn't look like we are far from that day approaching.

it'll get there eventually, but like, in another post, we're at 17.3 mil per school currently (or $207.6 mil total)

...with 14, we'd have to reach around $350 mil

I would do what I could to get OU. If that meant picking up Ok State, then I would do it and turn down TAMU

Orange,

Slive hinted tht there is a provision in the media deal that allows for renegotiation in the event of expansion and contraction. He obviously can not sat definitively bc of contractual restraints, but his comments were very forthtelling IMO.

He is a lawyer by trade and with expansion being on the horizon for some time, I can't imagine that this clause was not in there.

ok i'll take your word for it

still that would have to be an absolutely massive new deal...I'm not sure ESPN is willing to offer enough to get there 2 years after their original contract (which was a 15 year deal)

I think Oklahoma, Ok St., Texas, and Texas Teh are gone to the Pac-10. Texas is afraid of Florida and Alabama and everyone else is following.

Lets just say for arguments sake that aTm and OK are headed to the SEC. Given their location I am assuming they will be in the West. Who from the SEC West would come to the East to even things out?

Reece Davis of espn just shared a&m got permission from their board to abandon Tx Univeristy and come to the sec. I am not an a&m fan but they do have a Tx audience and they are a strong academic school. As a vols fan trips to Tx would be much better than trips to Cal. Also we along with other sec schools would be able to get Tx recruits. Imagine those big headed Tx kids coming to Neyland for a visit. Or even just to watch a&m play us. They would love to come to Knox. I am just being positive about the future lol.

If memory serves me correctly, we haven't exactly been real successful with the Texas recruits we have gotten in the past. We obviously would have to have someone more successful than the film watcher in evaluating the talent. Recall Stephens and Bryce Petty, not to mention some others going back to Majors tenure.

A&M could have a lock bcs bid every year and texas would still kill them and everyone else in the sec for texas recruits.
