Yep according to the committee that rules this board Butch should be fired (but but we could of had Sumlin) and now Sumlin should be fired and probably also Malzan...if you are not Saban then you should be fired if you lose to the wrong team

"Injuries do not matter and if they happen to some of your impact players/captains it should not influence your team. All of your depth should be developed to be as good as your impact players and should come in without any drop off in talent." - The idiot couch coaches of VolNation

Exactly. And this is a Tennessee fanbase that thinks we deserve a John Gruden type of hire? Lol

Sumlin's Aggies has 27 seconds left to score a touchdown and PAT to tie.

After incompletion, 21 secs. left and no time outs deep in their own side of the field.

Miss St. intercepts and seals their upset!

sumlin has done a hell of a lot more in a tuff West Sec than Butch has in a weak east.

It sure looked like Miss St was running the same offense UT does. Maybe better play calling? no no, we love Debord.

I just went to one of their forums and other than the obvious "fire Sumlin" threads, a major theme is that they want Chavis gone...apparently they gave up almost 400 rushing yards today.

Yeah, after the last decade, even with the amount of support we've shown, in no way do we deserve a home run hire.

You just admitted you're okay with mid-levek hires, did you not?

A couple of Tennessee references on their forum:

"Let's not be like some of the delusional Tennessee fans and blame everything on injuries. This team wasn't ready to play and that falls on Sumlin."

And

"I've been critical of Sumlin for a while now. I just don't know who we can get, especially with the other teams that will be looking for coaches after the season. As much as I hate to say it, it might be better to wait and give him another year. He isn't going to get us to a championship or probably even the playoffs, but on the other hand, it's not like he's Butch Jones bad either."

They sure don't remember how close they came to losing to Tennessee do they?

2OT.

Next time let's just deal them a loss so the limp will remind them how to talk about Tennessee and our coach.

Considering the players he inherited (including a Heisman winner) compared to what Butch started with and the record the last couple of years I disagree and really fail to see that it is even comparable. If anything he is a bit of a disappointment

Kind of funny though how the rest of the SEC thinks of Butch. My UF alum buddies texted me after the UF game and said "congrats, you're stuck with Butch even longer" and "Butch finally outcoached someone else". Before the SCar game I heard from friends of opposing fanbases who said "Muschamp owns Butch and will continue to be undefeated vs him by the end of the night." I dismissed and counteracted their view of both Muschamp and Butch...before the game.

Again, Miss state beat USCjr by two touchdowns. Vols were pickecd to steamroll the east; A&M 3rd in the west. Losing to south Carolina is worse than A&M's loss to miss st.

They were still alive for the playoff so I'd say theirs is worse.

He inherited a 3* RS FR QB. Surely you don't think Manziel did what he did because he was recruited by Mike Sherman? Then again I'm sure you do.

And Mike Sherman's 3 losing seasons out of his 4 years (in the Big XII no less) says Sumlin inherited a gold mine...
