Texas A&M calling for their coaches head

They sure don't remember how close they came to losing to Tennessee do they?

2OT.

Next time let's just deal them a loss so the limp will remind them how to talk about Tennessee and our coach.

It just seems like making fun of Butch and him being incompetent has become the cool thing to do. A lot of that probably has to do with the hype we came into the season with. The bigger issue is Butch's image amongst recruits.

Yes it was much worse. USc is statistically one of the worst teams in college football. Oh yeah and throw in the fact that they started a SR high school QB making his very first SEC start.

Look on the bright side...maybe that SC qb ends up being the next Peyton Manning or Tom Brady and dominates the NFL the next 20 years.

I am tired of this false "high school qb" narrative. The kid's father is a college coach and he is almost 19. He should be a college freshman or sophomore. His dad held him back for sports. He is now where he should be and has had better coaching his whole life than 99% of college freshmen qb.

It was a horrible loss. Bentley is no HS SR like people want to act though. The kid is older than most college freshmen.

Tennessee was picked to win the east. A&M was picked 3rd in the west. Vols lose to the worst team in the SEC. Its worse.

A&M was in the playoffs as of kickoff? Textbook definition of LOSS! :thud:

Doesnt matter. The fact is he was supposed to be the starter for his high school team this season. But he is not. He made his first SEC start against Tennessee. Your assessment of him being coached better his whole life is demonstrably false.

Being ranked #4 at this point in the season and losing to Miss State which is the worst team in the west is worse. Preseason predictions have nothing to do with anything and Vanderbilt is the worst team in the SEC last time I checked

Whatever - it's not worse when compared to what it cost each team. Tennessee was not ranked #4 with a shot at the playoffs

He inherited a 3* RS FR QB. Surely you don't think Manziel did what he did because he was recruited by Mike Sherman? Then again I'm sure you do.

And Mike Sherman's 3 losing seasons out of his 4 years (in the Big XII no less) says Sumlin inherited a gold mine...

If you're trying to say the the talent at both schools at the time they were hired was even close to equal you are out of your mind...

Look at the recruiting rankings; we out recruited them 3 out of the 4 yrs prior to Sumlin's arrival. Next you'll say the attrition of our classes negates those rankings without bothering to look up the same set of factors at aTm prior to his arrival. Since you're the one who wants to throw out a blanket statement the burden is on you to prove the state of the rosters were vastly different. Sherman's run was slightly better than Dooley's while playing in an inferior conference. So their talent was either grossly underdeveloped or grossly overrated. What was it?

You see Sumlin won sooner and assume it had to do with talent and not coaching.

So he forgot how to coach the last few years then?

Exactly. And this is a Tennessee fanbase that thinks we deserve a John Gruden type of hire? Lol

Why exactly would anyone want a coach who hasn't been coaching for years? We've got one now, and everybody wants him gone. Incredible what some local lunatics call an upgrade.

Again, Miss state beat USCjr by two touchdowns. Vols were pickecd to steamroll the east; A&M 3rd in the west. Losing to south Carolina is worse than A&M's loss to miss st.

No team has ever made mid season adjustments and gotten better - right? Might as well just play the first game and extrapolate the season. Apparently after losing to WI and later to a questionable Aub, LSU could in no way give AL problems. And then today Auburn almost Clemsoned playing Vandy?

You know that SC is 3-0 after that QB change? Couldn't possibly have been a mid season reset though. FL-SC will be interesting.

He's lost 3 QB's to transfers in the last 2 yrs. I wouldn't expect anyone to have major success replacing multiple QB's and trying to win with Hubenak is futile as we saw today. I'm not saying he didn't have some talent, when he was hired, Sherman recruited at a top 20-25 level on paper but so did Dooley and Kiffin.

You gotta love the overreactions. Games like this show that every team is going to have struggle if not embarrassing weeks against significantly inferior teams but it does not define who that team is. This whole fire a coach after a struggle week is nothing but ignorance from people who feel they are entitled to better.

Liked.

Find my post where I said anything about our injuries and them not having an impact. You won't, since I haven't posted in a month until 2 days ago. But you're ready to pounce.

With that said, both us and aTm should be able to beat SCar and Miss St, even with the injuries.

Qualify that please. 5-10-or maybe 15 injuries? Just asking.
