No big news. I think the SEC waits untill it has it's ducks in a row(finds a 14th team) before it invites A&M. A&M might has well go independent as stay in the big 12. Without a conference championship game the Big 12 as nothing to offer.

Not surprised by the topic, but surprised by its speed. This thing is happening quickly. About a week or so ago, supposed insiders over on TexAgs said this would be a done deal by Labor Day. We'll see.

Also makes me wonder if they'll get the finger from B12 officiating crews this year much like Nebraska seemed to get last season. The Nebraska/A&M game last year was one of the most pathetically officiated games I've ever seen.

I agree. That roughing the passer personal foul that gave A&M a first down and led to the winning field goal was a B.S. call. Regardless of Pelini's behavior earlier in the game, that call was senseless.

I find it odd that they would announce this before the sec presidents have even voted to allow them into the sec.... especially since they have voted not to allow them once already. seems like slive is making some promises a little prematurely.

The SEC did not vote to "not allow" A&M. They voted not to extend an invitation, with the thinly-veiled hint that A&M needs to sever its currents ties first. It's all about avoiding a lawsuit. If A&M leaves the Big XII, the SEC can't be accused of tampering when they extend an invite.

Trust me, A&M is not making this move without knowing with 100% certainty that an invite is forthcoming.

I'll be glad when they are finally in the SEC and we can go back to not giving a crap about them.

Yea I just read an article to that effect. I figured they had some pretty good assurances. I find it hard to believe that so many schools would be on board with it though.... With the Boise St's and TCU's of the NCAA getting to major bowl games with these gravy schedules, I would think the trend would be to make schedules easier to play, not harder. Makes me wonder what will come of the UT-Bama game.

Totally underwhelmed by this. We're likely to lose the yearly game with Bama in return for going to College Station once a decade. Great.

Plus we're going to have to water down the conference even more by adding an underwhelming 14th team that probably won't even justify itself with a huge TV market.

I get the inexorable logic of money, TV markets, and the arms race mentality, but there's nothing good about this for the fans.
