Texas A&M

It has nothing to do with that to me. UF's record going into our game with them is irrelevant. I just want A&M to get destroyed because they are nothing but a bunch of whiny babies who had to run to the SEC for help because they were upset about being Texas' kid brother. I hate UF as much as the next guy, but I won't ever wish any success of aTm now. Hopefully UF, and the rest of the SEC as the year goes on, makes them sorry
they ever left the Big XII
Here here. Screw the Texas teet suckers!!!

Conference expansion was going to happen one way or the other. A&M, IMO, will be a boon for the SEC. Even better is that I think Texas will be playing second fiddle to A&M in a couple of years. The arrogant asses in Austin will get what they asked for.

There is no way in hell that Texas A&M will ever usurp the Longhorns in that state.

They won't. Texas football isn't going anywhere, ever. It's just too big.

Meanwhile, UT will now only be playing LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arky, Miss. St once in a blue moon. In addition, we've lost one of our meetings with UK in basketball. Now they'll only be in Knoxville every other year. In exchange we've got a yearly football meeting with Mizzou and a once in a blue moon game with aTm. That doesn't seem like a good trade IMO.

Another part of it is that Gene Stallings is high up in the A and M athletic department/finacial supporters, and he has wanted the aggies in the SEC for a while.

And Gov Perry is an Aggie too, so wasn't hard to get done. As a Texan this was a no brainier for the Aggies. Being down on them for being "butthurt crybabies" is a little much. The big 12 was crumbling and the SEC came calling...easy call IMO. LHN or not this would have happened no matter what.

I still thought A and M came a calling.

You have an issue with expansion and blaming the new schools. Two different things. I agree the mix-up from the expansion sux, but is what it is at this pt. Can't do anything about it but let's be honest arguing losing a basketball matchup in the football forum in the start of the football season isn't going to get to many riled up IMO.

Could have been who knows?? No matter who called first...the sec or reversed...the phone was answered and the deal was made with ease on both sides. No brainier for both side no?

That's true. But the fact is that aTm's whining eventually caused us to lose that yearly basketball matchup with UK here in Knoxville. That's just one of the many reasons I'll be pulling against the Aggies both this weekend and every weekend with the exception of when they play Bama.

If the SEC's only agenda was a cash grab, then yes it was a no brainer. If they cared at all about things like "tradition" or "geography" then not really. As it turns out, all Slive and the school presidents cared about was the money.

I still want a and m and mizzou to lose lots. Maybe win their nonconferences in order to not embarras us.

And this is A&M's fault how? They were offered a good thing and took it. I can't fault them for that.

Of course it was a cash grab. Every major conference had a new tv contract that was bigger than the sec's. Iirc the only really good way of getting it reworked would to add schools. IMO Aggies weren't being crybabies. They got fed up with it, and they just got up and changed. Now if they moved to the WAC or lower conference then we can call them crybabies IMO. Perfect timing for both sides.

Ky vs TN basketball game isn't tradition like Bama/tenn football game. Sorry it's not going to get much out many on here. Sure I'd like for it to be unchanged but I'm not going to be pissed like if TTSIO were to go away from our yearly schedule...now that's different.

Doesn't change the fact that I don't want to see the SEC's good thing ruined because we feel the need to take in a charity case that is butthurt over having to play second fiddle in their own state. I can understand aTm's reasons for wanting to leave, I just hope the SEC beats them up so bad and so often that the Longhorn Network eventually looks like the much lesser of two evils.

So what you're saying is aTm is the Candy of Texas. Sounds about right.

Me too! We don't play the Aggies this yr so it doesn't affect us in away what their season is like. Mizzou I want to win all non conference. Beat the s**t out of Vandy and ky, and give the other east teams good games and beat them up. Now DJ u know your going to be rooting for mizzou vs USC if it helps us in the division standings??? Biting ur tongue I'm sure but still doing it. Ha!

True. I like his enthusiasm but went a little to far with that. I think they could close the gap a little in the right direction if they have success but that's about it. If they ever get the tx/Aggie game back on yearly and the Aggies dominate tx cause the SEC has gotten them better than that will good for them.

Just don't see much success with the bad coaching hires, and moving into the west. So of course tx will still laugh at them.

This is utterly rediculous. A&M whining over playing second fiddle to Texas? No it's more like every other team in the Big 12 got ROYALLY SCREWED by the pathetic Long Horn Network. That played a MAJOR role in Nebraska (an all time elite program) leaving the conference as well. Unequal revenue sharing pissed half the conference off and I can't blame them one bit for leaving. As someone earlier stated which was spot on. We wouldn't like it if they had a "Bama Network" which entitled them to a boatload of money that the rest of the conference didn't get to see. I would have rather seen WVU rather than Mizzou. However, I think we did pretty good adding the teams we did. I for one am anxiously awaiting the day I can go to College Station Texas and soak in what they have to offer on game day. But that's just me.
