Runaway Texas Democrat says it will cost $1.5 Million to keep them in DC until August 7 in their $200-a-night hotel - while member admits it was a MISTAKE to go maskless on private jet after five got COVID

  • Lawmakers are looking for help to pay for the stunt to prevent Republicans' voting integrity laws by asking for donations and funds from various caucuses

Texas Democrats need more than $1 million in order to remain in Washington, D.C. until August 7 – and one of the runaways admitted they were wrong not to mask up on their private jet rides after five members contracted COVID.

Fundraising efforts ensued last week to help pay for the trip as the group insists no taxpayer money is being used for their stunt.

State Representative Armando Walle told NBC News in a report published Monday that the cost of keeping the group of around 60 lawmakers in the nation's capital for the remainder of the special session would reach around $1.5 million.

When fleeing, the lawmakers posted several selfies taunting Republicans where they were seen maskless on coach buses and the crowded planes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still says transportation like planes, buses and trains should require masks regardless of vaccination status.

He also posted an image of a group of the Texas Democrats posing on one of the two jets chartered at $100,000, where none are wearing a face covering. The CDC recommends all people, regardless of vaccinated status, wear masks on transportation like planes and buses

On Tuesday, before the positive diagnoses, the group met with Vice President Kamala Harris.

It is not immediately clear who is fronting the bill for the Democrats' month-long stay in D.C., but the lawmakers expect to be reimbursed, partly with funds raised from supporters and partly from other entities.

Legislators have also revealed that they have picked up costs on their personal credit cards or from their campaign accounts.

I must say the pictures have been classic they have taken. Miller Lite, grandma panties, shoulder to shoulder inside with no masks, Ka'ma'la speaking with a microphone in a small room, private jets.

What a crock, the Motel 6 has rooms for $62 per night, 4 to a room, 20 night = $18,600 plus taxes and fees. Under 20K. Breakfast at McDonalds, Lunch at Taco Bell, and dinner at KFC about $20 per head per day, another 24K, charter bus to take them back (we could start on the 6th and save a night's hotel, another 9K, They could be taken care of for less than $55K. At $1.5M that's $1,250 per day per person. The GSA per diem for DC this time of year is $250 per day.

How convenient - I know she met with the delegation and none were wearing masks - were these 6 not in the room? You don't think they should at least get tested?

Kamala should be charged with murder right? Clearly not taking Covid seriously, just like Trump. And thus is directly killing citizens with her lack of action.

We have to expect better from our leaders.

They ran an article here when the antivax trumptard Baptist convention became a "cluster" with 8-10 cases out of 18,000 attendants. Surely this incident warrants more outrage?
