They've also only been members of conferences they've effectively controlled. That won't be the case in the SEC.
#1 will happen because, as you said other SEC schools like that idea too. I bet in the coming years the SECCG will be played in Atlanta, the new Titans stadium in Nashville, Jerryworld, and maybe New Orleans. From what I have read/heard, Texas has actually been pretty easy to work with so far. The new AD doesn't seem to have the issues of past regimes (arrogance). Texas has really only pushed the SEC on two major items:
1. Moving Championship Game away from Atlanta (although other, even existing SEC members have liked this idea and agreed with Texas)
2. Playing Oklahoma in Dallas for RRSO (something SEC also wants to keep because it brings $$$$)
In many ways, Texas A&M has been more difficult about everything.

As for #2, why wouldn't that continue to happen? That game has been played in Dallas for basically its entire history.
It was probably part of their contract to joinYeah they play OU in Dallas & Ga in Austin but the rest of their SEC schedule is made up of bottom half of this years standings, Miss St, Ky, Vandy, Florida & Auburn, I believe. A&M is their toughest road game.
Does anyone else think Sankey may have set them up for this?
I don’t blame them. I would be pissed too. From what I have read/heard, Texas has actually been pretty easy to work with so far. The new AD doesn't seem to have the issues of past regimes (arrogance). Texas has really only pushed the SEC on two major items:

I was talking about this to a buddy the other day and didn’t realize it’s actually a thing. But with the changes, Atlanta is a terrible spot. I get that it’s because of the dome, but it really needs to be moved to a more centralized location. Honestly, Nashville would be a prime spot, or even Memphis—but I don’t think there’s a large enough stadium there. What I wouldn’t want is to move it to Texas, that would dumb. From what I have read/heard, Texas has actually been pretty easy to work with so far. I can see it now. They bring back Brent Musberger for the game .I was talking about this to a buddy the other day and didn’t realize it’s actually a thing. They also play @ Michigan. They don't play Auburn. They play @ Arkansas.Yeah they play OU in Dallas & Ga in Austin but the rest of their SEC schedule is made up of bottom half of this years standings, Miss St, Ky, Vandy, Florida & Auburn, I believe. A&M is their toughest road game.

My comment originally was only about the SEC portion of the schedule & how they could be in the SECCG vs a Ga or Ala winner. Non conference games do not determine who goes into the championship game. Stop trying to move the bar to defend your ignorance.... and what about playing @ Michigan? Out-of-conference matters too, and they blow us away.

You’re saying playing neutral field is sane as playing on the road? And playing Ga at home is same as in Athens? Oh, and playing @ A&M is same as playing Ala at home? You’re wrongLOL.
You did not even explain how there is a significant difference between Tennessee's SEC schedule and the conference schedule that Texas will play in 2024, because there isn't one.
They share 7 common opponents out of the 8 game SEC schedule!
Both teams play :
Mississippi State (at home for both)
Oklahoma (in Dallas for Texas; in Norman for Tennessee)
Georgia (in Austin for Texas; in Athens for Tennessee)
Vanderbilt (in Nashville for both)
Arkansas (in Fayetteville for both)
Florida (at home for both)
Kentucky (at home for both)
Not only do they share 7 common SEC opponents .... but 5 of them are either both at home, or both away. There is obviously a difference between playing Alabama and Texas A&M ... but since Alabama is at home for Tennessee, while their game against Texas A&M is in College Station - it is ridiculous for you to act like there was favoritism in the scheduling towards Texas. The schedules are too much alike. You did not make your case at all! There is not as large a difference between the respective schedules as you are trying to argue.
However, you did try to say that Texas played Auburn, which was in itself .... ignorance.
