Based on their opinion of him, you'd think they'd be glad he was as far away as possible.
It always amazed me that whatever Trump did was a disaster, but they screamed for him to do something.

I am trying to understand this, what I think it comes down to is liberals expect a)more virtue signaling from their leaders and b) the government is the solution to all problems. Even though a lot of government officials don't have authority in this situation they need to be there for moral support or something? And no matter your actual power or authority you should be doing everything you can to fix this. So maybe we need another taxpayer funded committee or oversight board to make sure these once in a decade/century things never happen again.
