Wonder how many of those Texans are rethinking the demolition of those coal fired plants that could have had a 30 day supply of coal ready to go in less than a day.The gas plants are having issues due to lines freezing feeding them in certain areas. I heard that from both Abbott and Crenshaw. Van Taylor, my rep, sent out a notice with the same info. We aren’t going to redo our gas delivery infrastructure for a once in 125 year storm from historical records. That would be stupid.
Texas power generation sees peak delivery in the summer and maintenance is scheduled for the winter. Another benefit of coal and gas is quick turnaround if we need to bring plants back online for extremely rare situations like this. But if the burners or generators don’t have fuel...
I do have a question, are everyone without power because the system doesn't have enough capacity or are some without because transmission line are down due to ice.....you know the same reason every natural disaster causes a power interruption
