Texas new coach Saban.

Just to clarify, I wasn't throwing shade at you, just don't think it will happen. I'd love to be wrong though.

It is an interesting question. Would he leave for $15M a year? $20M? Are the Texas boosters crazy enough to pay $20M? I'm sure they have that casually laying in the seat cushions...

If they do go full retard and offer $20M what does Bama do? Would/Could they match it? Would they dare hire Lame if Saban left???

I love cheeseburgers but I wouldn't pay $200 for one even though I could afford to do it every day. Just because Texas has money doesn't mean they are going to spend stupid money. Big money guys have a lot going on, college football is only a small part of their existence.

You don't have to watch or even get on a message board. It's not old fat men, seems a bit angry to me. It's economics and nobody is forcing anyone to buy. If someone told you that when you spend $1,000 you will get $5,000 in return, it's a no brainer. Quit being mad that some people rise to the top and are worth a lot of money.

Texas as a university isn't spending $20 mil a year on a football coach. They also take pride in academics and their ego wouldn't allow them to spend 3x a competitor... in their mind they shouldn't have to.

Boosters could pay the $20 mil but where's their return other than having winning team? A booster isn't making 5x on that investment.

It's funny that folks here think $4 million is too much to pay Butch for what maybe a nine or ten win season, but are perfectly fine paying a $10 million buyout to fire Butch along with another $15 or $20 million contact for a guy like Fleck who's had one good year at Western Michigan, and as of today has zero championships.

Yeah and it's always easier to spend someone else's money.

Apparently if Tom Herman takes the LSU job, there's a strong chance that Charlie Strong gets another year at Texas.

I have posted a lot today. It's good to have some extra free time during the holidays. lol.

I've had a fantastic Thanksgiving. Just finished a big plate (or two) of Thanksgiving dinner and got the spend the day with family, for which I'm very grateful.

How about you? You have a fun Thanksgiving?

That's too logical a line of thinking, Freak.

I wasn't following it closely, but I seen this one the bottom line and I thought he was already canned. This would be an interesting turn of events IMO.

Heck yeah. I had to hold me breath for a second when it looked like the yellow dogs and the cultural conservatives were going to meet center table in a full-on rumble when a strangely inappropriate-for-the-dinner-table story about long bathroom lines morphed into a transgender bathroom dust up. It died down pretty quickly and we had no more division other than the kid table/adult table variety.

Even if we paid Lyle the buyout (we wont), it would take $15-$20 mil to get Fleck or any other "up and comer." $3.5 mil at 4 years is about what Tennessee would be willing to pay (or at least what we've shown in the past).
