He goes to Texas and Kirby Smart will take over at bama....don't know why Bama fans are mad unless they don't believe in Smart...but Bama cannot compete with Texas when it comes to money and everything else Texas can offer....if you think they can you're delusional
Texas could make him the first $10 million per year coach. Anyone would at least listen to that.
There is a 0.00% chance they offer 10 mill.
If that is what it took to get Saban, they COULD. Texas is the most football crazy state and they have more money than any university around. The offer would probably be closer to 7.5, but if it took it Texas could offer a cool 10 mill and not bat an eyelash.
As a UA fan I would be unhappy but at the same time be happy. Would hate to see Saban go but where UA is we could hire any coach in the country with what they would be able to walk into with the talent on the roster. After the meltdowns by the fan base the sun would still be shining. Saban will be gone at some point why not while UA is still on top not on the way down.

Again, don't mistake 'could' with 'would'. They are not going to offer the highest paid college coach an 82% raise. They aren't going to pay a college coach 2 million more than the highest paid pro coach.
As you said, they might offer 7 to 7.5. But Alabama would match that without a second thought. Texas is, by far, the most profitable athletic department in the country. But Bama is still Top 5.

Nick Saban on Texas rumors: 'IÂ’m just too damn old to start over somewhere else' |
FWIW
Although I think he stays put, anything out of Saban's mouth concerning new jobs is just about worthless.
So FWIW...not a whole lot.
Absolute worst case I can see for bama if any of this is true is that they will need to pony up more money.
Just trying to confirm the delusional stupidity I'm hearing.
