I do not draw lines in the sand. It seems people cannot discuss this subject with common sense.

You're either a Fulmer lover and a Majors hater, or vice versa.

I, on the other hand, do not hate Phillip.

I cannot stand the distortions that people create to help them feel good about themselves while bashing John.

History cannot be rewritten.

Phillip doesn't have to be the enemy and John most certainly was not the bad guy because the only thing he did wrong was get sick and, of course, piss off the wrong righ guy.

I'm with you OV.... There's no need for there to be a good guy and a bad guy in all of this; especially 13 years later. It happened . . . let's move on.

Exactlty! but to me some don't see that situation as you and I and either don't care or don't know what all went on!

It's a shame people pretend to know more about this situation than they do.

Johnny came back too soon, regardless what was going on behind him.

His BOSS told him to stay out, and he showed up one morning telling assistants he was back, and then he tries to hold out for more money.

He's lucky they let him stay as long as they did.

If he would have been as big a drunk as he was under my watch, he would have been gone before the heart attack.

There are some people who believe the people they hire, the people who are supposed to be their friends, would be safe caretakers of their jobs while they are laid up recovering from heart surgery.

If I had to miss work due to illness, I'd expect my subordinates to protect my job for me, not discuss my job with my superiors.

I was in a position to know.

I've discussed it all here before and was going to stay out of this one. But when people start dissing John for coming back too soon, I then realize that they have no clue as to what was going on behind John's back while he was SICK.

Just because a person has a RIGHT to do a thing does not mean it is the RIGHT thing to do.

Please enlighten me in a PM on what I don't know about ("I was in a position to know" I missed your previous discussion) , no fight here, I'm just curious and would really like to know, if I have my opinion based on the wrong facts i'm not too hard headed to change my mind. It is my feeling that Fulmer did nothing wrong and that Johnny's situation was handled wrong but he still needs to get over it.

again this a tribute to what majors did while a coach to all you pessimists.  ITs amazing you guys pull out the neg on majors never do the same on fulmer. Take it to the other thread to compare coaches. Its simply to say thank you for what he has done asa coach at UT. I guess with some of you UT football never existed not was good until fulmer got here. I wish some of you grow in the 70's and experience those times. Majors made it better and i thank him for that. Swallow your pride to say thanks.

Careful who and what you believe volman.

Some people "know" what they know because of who they like.

I still want both sides , and I was in a position to know that Jack Daniels had alot to do with the troubles (John like him too much).

Just remember Johnny is old. We all have heard our grandparents or older aunts and uncles say some pretty ridiculous things sometimes. Elders need the slack. Majors is a Vol and always will be in my book. I hope a chant of Rocky Stops comes out and Jeff Powell and Dale Jones with the rest of them get what they deserve.

So far, by my last count, OV is the 1,287th person to be knowing what really happened back in 1992. Is the UT ADs office that big???

And Majors continues to whine and gripe and run down UT and its football program. You people can love the old drunk all you want but until he grows up and shuts his mouth he gets nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
