That bama team is garbage

This from the guy who said Bama would win by 20. Also said Uros is terrible. Uros had 10 points on 4 of 4 shooting, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 13 minutes. I’ll take that.
He is one of those the Tennessee basketball Twitter account is referencing, one that ZZ is referencing, and one that Morant is referencing.

I disagree with the whole take, however, I will accept all mockery of Bama. Continue on OP.

You bring that poor shooting performance to the tourney, and expect an early trip back home. Bama lost because they shot even worse than we did. And the game was much closer than saying we beat them comfortably. With 2 minutes left it could have gone either way---we only had a 4 pt lead. We missed wide open uncontested shots time and again throughout the game. I'm glad they won, and love their intensity, and I hope they can use this win to build off of.
Come on…Bama shot 1% worse than us. You make it sound like they shot significantly worse when in reality, we shot it pretty equally. And sure the game was close, but we won comfortably in the end thanks to FT shooting, and we only trailed for like a total of less than 2 minutes. We never trailed in the 2nd half.

I’m with you, we need to shoot better to widen our margin for error, but it just feels like you’re trying to project last night’s shooting performance as some assured future death knell as if to ignore how elite we played defensively. Just 5 days ago, we shot 45.3% and got beat. We shot 46.7% against Vandy and got beat. We shot 42.9% against Arizona and got beat. Shooting better doesn’t always equate to wins.

If we play defense in March like we did last night, we can absolutely sustain a 36.5% shooting performance.

Tiny guards and post are all rails. Got absolutely bull dogged. Fortunately our 3rd string wing was on Brandon Miller so he was able to hit double digits. Just a disgusting institution.

Congrats to them on clawing away every night to grind out a regular season Sec title. They aren’t good and already look exhausted.
Are you drunk?

Bama also missed numerous open looks, it happens. That’s like Vandy or Mizz calling TN garbage. TN is a good team, however, we can look bad when shooting 30% or less from the field.
Edit- look bad, not bald 😆 -typo

They are pretty good and def a possible final four team but so are we.
They are gonna be a tough out for sure. Just a hillbilly opinion from me is we need to get healthy and go into tourney time with rested legs and we can be a difficult out as well. These guys play hard and have my respect!!

I agree both played tough defense and yes, that affected shot selection. But they missed way too many open floor shots from 5 feet, 10 feet etc. You can't play like that and expect to go deep in the tourney. You need to hit more than dunks and lay ups
That’s what happens when you have two of the best defensive teams in the country going at it and the refs are letting them play. I didn’t see a bunch of wide open shots.

Mashack did a good job on Miller. If he hadn’t, Miller would have gone for 30. Frankly I would rather have him on Miller than I would Phillips. That’s if JJJ can’t play.

I have done nothing but reflect exactly what happened in the game and made my prediction is if you shoot that poorly in the tournament expect to be bounced early. On any given night, the team you play in March play offs won't shoot or play as average as Bama did last night. Bama shot poorly, had lots of turn overs & got out rebounded, etc I'm glad they won, but I'm also not one to ignore the poor shooting just because they beat the " number 1 " team. Much of the game early they were hitting only 29% of their shots. Someone needs to practice hitting 8 foot jump shots

Yeah it's a little late in the year to be calling the #1 team garbage..It's the same thing we've seen teams do to Tennessee this year. They wanted it more. Home court has been a big deal this year.

There is an old saying about opening your mouth and taking all doubt away. I think they were talking about times like this because you just took all doubt away!!!:)

And it's my opinion that you severely discount our defense on any given night in March. I gave you three examples of games where shooting the ball well still resulted in losing the game for our team. I'll take last night's defense and 37% shooting over 45% shooting and the defense we saw against Vandy and Missouri. Ideally, we get last nights defense and 45% shooting, but this team isnt an offensive juggernaut, so I'll side with the one thing we excel at. Feel free to disagree, though.

45% is not that much better than what we did in the Bama game. Those 2 losses you gave are examples of what I'm saying will happen in the tourney if we don't find a way to hit some outside shots. We won the Bama game because we sucked less than Bama on that given night. Beating a team who sucked on a given night is not something to crow about.

I read this thread and you don't see any counter responses from the OP so just troll. If your going to troll a site at least make a convincing post instead of one of total stupidity. Probably a Tide fan just just showing off his IQ.

Uhh...45% from the field is significantly better than 36.5% from the field. That's simple math. In the Bama game, 45% from the field would have been an additional 5-6 made baskets for us on the 63 attempts we took, which, worst case, assuming they were all 2-pt shots, would have made the scoring margin 19-21 points instead of 9.

45% would rank 163rd out of 352 D1 teams, which, with our defense, is plenty good enough to win on most nights.

The line between our disagreement, though, seems to be that you simply chalk the Bama win up to them sucking, and us sucking less. That really seems to discount our effort, as I attribute it to our defense making them suck. We smothered them, defensively, forced them into a lot of bad turnovers, protected the paint, and guarded the perimeter well enough. When we play defense like that, we can sustain poor shooting nights and leave ourselves a chance to win. I also feel like our poor shooting night against them was a credit to their defense and their length.

I don't care how we beat Bama in basketball, football or anything else. It's always great!!;)
