Yeah, it was like what... 52 yards? Punt the ball. Palardy knew he had to get some distance and ended up screwing it up royally. should have played field position.

This decision and the decision in the Oregon game to decline the holding penalty which almost resulted in an Oregon TD has really shown me all I need to know about Butch's coaching.

edit: for those saying the holder "blocked" it. i never saw a replay, i was actually at the game. unlike some of you posters.

Palardy whiffed or something odd happened. Looked like he hit the holder's hand.

Was it Butches fault for the penalty on the fake, which likely would have been a touchdown?

Did Butch kick the ball?

It was a 47-yarder and Palardy hitting the holder's hand isn't really on Jones.

I'm just not seeing anything here. There is plenty to criticize the staff/team on.

So two 50/50 calls and now he's a bad coach?

Damn, why didn't Hart hire you instead?

Drummond didn't get his left hand out of the way, and the ball hit it when Palardy kicked it. It wasn't on Palardy.

Did you watch the replays or hear the play by play? Tyler Paige still had his left hand in front of the ball when Palardy kicked it! Probably the first blocked kick by a holder in Tennessee history. 52 yards is supposed to be in Palardy's range.

still should have punted anyway you look at it.

Maybe. It's a judgment call. I might have punted, but it's easy to second guess in hindsight. Obviously there was more to that play than a missed field goal.

Still a little too early to tell about CBJ. I am sure he has never seen some of the stuff we have witnessed this year already. But at least we aren't teaching shower hygiene this year so that is a positive.

Yeah if we punt guaranteed the op starts a thread "why not try a field goal. Playing scared won't get you far. Outcoached"

Get a life op.

Everyone knew that Palardy has several F ups left in his career... He has just been holding back... I see a really punt in the future and a missed extra point for s... and giggles
