That fake was fantastic. Too undisciplined today. Too many penalties.

Yes it was. His responsibility to teach the discipline the team desperately needs. They looked poorly coached today. 8 penalties vs a SunBelt team.

No it wasn't. He can hit those. Plus like Freak said we probably would have had a TD if we didn't have a penalty on the Fake. Then we block our own FG. LOL still laugh at that. We beat ourselves on both plays.

It was your opinion that a smart person punts in that situation, not a fact. Your parents paid way too much money to whatever education you got. That's very basic elementary knowledge.

I want to see a replay of the "false start" on the fake field goal play. I didn't see any of our players move. I did notice a So Bama player flinch, but no one on our team. However, I need to see a replay to confirm.

edit: for those saying the holder "blocked" it. i never saw a replay, i was actually at the game. unlike some of you posters.

Have you not seen Palardy this year? He clearly has been the most powerful then he ever has. Have you seen his kickoffs? He has consistently booted the ball into the endzone. Don't act like he is not capable of making that field goal.

And more basic elementary knowledge includes when to use an apostrophe. And I don't believe I've ever heard the phrase "kicking a punt." Simply saying "punting" is quite sufficient. You're making yourself look quite silly for questioning someone else's education, sir.

And by the way, a made field goal right there makes it a three-possession game. And then after a kickoff, USA would have started deep into their own territory anyway. Hindsight is always 20/20. Now, get some of those private school books out and brush up on that awesome education you got.

Palardy went from 30+ yard TD on fake fg to a 52yd try. I've been critical of him. But wasn't annoyed this time.

The problem with that FG was sending the unit on the field in the first place. No need to punt. You go for it there. If this team can't impose their will against South Alabama to get 3 yards and put that game away there then so be it, but that's the call I make.

The other option would have been to line up and kick the actual FG. The fake is just stupid coaching. I like Butch and realize you have to give the man at least 4 years. I think he'll be ok, but I do have questions. The fake FG is one of them. You just didn't need it there. You get one shot in a season to call that play. Now it's wasted and they got nothing from it. I would argue that even had it gone for a TD against USA it was a stupid call. That fake play could have been the difference in a game against South Carolina, Auburn, Missouri, or Vandy. Now, those teams will be ready for it. You just don't use those plays in a game like today. If you need that play to win today, the team is in deep, deep trouble.

the ball hit the holders hand,it wasn't Palardys fault at all,he has been kicking good this year,so why not give him a shot with a good lead?

i hated they got a flag on the fake,Palardy would of had a TD on that play

When is a good time to call a fake fg? It's a "trick play" surprise play to catch a team just at the right moment. There is no right or wrong time.
