That Palardy kick was Butch's fault.

Yeah, it was like what... 52 yards? Punt the ball. Palardy knew he had to get some distance and ended up screwing it up royally. should have played field position.

This decision and the decision in the Oregon game to decline the holding penalty which almost resulted in an Oregon TD has really shown me all I need to know about Butch's coaching.

edit: for those saying the holder "blocked" it. i never saw a replay, i was actually at the game. unlike some of you posters.

So a field goal kicker that routinely kick 50 + yard field goals in games and practice should not try one in a game because it is a field position game? Hmmm.. I thought it was a game about scoring points when you can. Go figure.

Do you seriously want to stand by your contention that that poorly executed Field goal attempt was Butch's fault? This Could be the most ridiculous assertion I've read on these pages.:peace2:

I don't care what the refs say. That was not a false start penalty. It was really delay of game. Watching the game, I re-winded the game and the play clock was at 0 for about 2 seconds when we snapped it.

When is a good time to call a fake fg? It's a "trick play" surprise play to catch a team just at the right moment. There is no right or wrong time.

The fake field goal was pretty awesomely executed sans the offsides in my opinion.

CBJ made the right call to try the kick...if it had been good, the game would have basically been over at that point.

So an accurate kicker with that in his range shouldn't try it? How can those 2 judgement calls make Butch a bad coach?

You post about the "block" therefore admitting you're wrong about the whole thing. Hilarious.

I've never been to a UT game ever, not sure if I ever financially can. Guess I'm not as good of a fan as you.

So what you are saying is we had a better view at home.

With this offense you better be ready to put some faith in your kicker. Palardy has been fairly impressive this year IMO.

The fake called by the coaching staff would have been a TD so how can you blame butch for a false start?

Was it also his fault for Worley not throwing the ball to a wide open TE on 2nd down? Unfortunately Butch is in a bad spot. He has no good options at QB. Blaming the kick on him is idiotic though.

Butch kicked the ball into the holder's hand? I think that was on the holder. He blocked Palardy's kick with his hand inadvertently. Weird deal. First time i've seen that.

Drummond didn't get his left hand out of the way, and the ball hit it when Palardy kicked it. It wasn't on Palardy.

Thats what it sure looked like.

If I was Palardy, I would have hauled off and kicking him again after the play.
