History is built on combining cultures so I'll never understand the whole "appropriation" argument. You're arguing something is somehow racist while being completely bigoted. Makes zero sense.
More proof that the liberals are not about inclusion but rather keeping everyone separate and at each others' throats.

People want to be victims. People want to be offended. If they can't feel the offense and be a victim they will play the part for someone else.

I would LOVE for our resident socialists to defend the outrage. Hopefully they are hiding in shame.

She seems like a bright young lady. Fairly well spoken for 18 years old.

The left hates that of course. They'd rather have someone who won't be able to defend themselves.

I thought it was funny that Mom is a public affairs specialist and Dad is in Law Enforcement. Those idiots going against her and threatening her could have picked a better target...

But the most interesting. Shouldn't the Chinese people be inflamed over this?

But those commenting in mainland China were less opposed to Daum’s dress.

“Very elegant and beautiful! Really don’t understand the people who are against her, they are wrong!” one person commented on an article by Wenxue City News. “I suggest the Chinese government, state television or fashion company invite her to China to display her cheongsam!”

“It is not cultural theft,” another wrote. “It is cultural appreciation and cultural respect.”

Weibo users added that Daum looked beautiful and criticised those who have accused her.

“Culture has no borders,” one wrote. “There is no problem, as long as there is no malice or deliberate maligning. Chinese cultural treasures are worth spreading all over the world.”

Wait, you mean to tell me the Chinese people, I mean those actually who live in China, aren't mad about this? Where is their outrage?

I'll applaud CNN for taking a semi-neutral stance on it:

The shocking viral reaction to a Chinese-style cheongsam (qipao) prom dress: Opinion - CNN

At that time, under the newly founded Republic of China, Chinese feminists called for women to end the practice of footbinding, cut their hair short and began wearing changpao as a means of asserting their equality with men.

By the 1930s, in colonial Shanghai and Hong Kong, the traditional Manchu male outfit had become feminized and stylized: The long gown was cut short and shaped to fit women's curves, elaborately printed or embroidered and turned into the dress commonly referred to as the qipao. Today, Chinese women who aren't restaurant staff or flight attendants do not wear the modern version of the qipao -- skin-tight, with a revealing leg slit and a hemline above the knee -- for anything other than weddings and gala events.

Pretty much an "oh ****, I didn't know that" moment for the social justice crowd.

My guess is you'll get a bunch of "WTF are you talking about?" and "WTF is the big deal?"

And maybe a few selected "WTF is wrong with people over there?" comments following up the first two WTF moments.

Probably. It will be kind of fun.

Anyone see Kanye say slavery was a choice ?

I dont think he meant the literal slaves though. I think he meant today's use of that era in every day life. I think hes saying there are people today that are mentally stuck and enslaved by something that happened 400 years ago rather than being free and bettering themselves. But in perfect Kanye form, didn't express that well.

So apparently Snoop Dogg posted a pic of Kanye as a white guy. The irony of this being Snoop calling anyone "white" while being besties with Martha Stewart. I just laughed.

This is the same leftist idiot crowd that tells Native Americans that they should be offended by the Cleveland Indians or Washington Redskins mascot, when in reality 90% of Native Americans dgaf.

I'd say that number might be a bit higher. You notice they don't come out here to Oklahoma spouting off that nonsense? We just worked a gig on Friday and used the high school to park at. The name of their mascot?

Indians.

No, the touchy feely social justice mob will be best served by staying out of Oklahoma with that mess.

When you have thousands of people who have to walk across the stage in a specific amount of time there is no room or time for doing Arsenio Hall impressions on stage.

High school and college both, you were told get across the stage, get your photo taken, move on. In HS they said dance or do something dumb and we’ll hold your diploma.

The older i get the more i observe a severe lack of situational awareness in the behavior of others. Schools need to teach the skill because there can be no larger benefit to humanity than to teach morons awareness.

I was going by a Washington Times poll or some other outlet that did this in the last year and a half.

Recruiting fodder, that's all this is.

I will gladly let 5* football recruits dance across UT's stage as long as they pick us over UF. They can do cartwheels and backflips as long as they help us get back to winning.
