Yah. Sort of. The subtle difference is that it's not strictly a reference to the relationship with the child, but is a reference to the relationship with the mother.

It's less a reference to "father" and more a replacement for "husband".

We're not married. That's not my husband; it's my baby-daddy.

Yeah..not really a white thang. We tend to be called "my ex" or even "sperm donor " (not me, thankfully) seems to be primarily a black folks term.

Remove the financial incentive to NOT get married...wic vouchers, food stamps, sec 8 housing, child care assistance...it's endless. Last article I read totalled about 36k a year in benefits for a single mom to have a baby and do nothing. For those keeping score at home...that is 18 dollars an hour x 50 weeks a year. So why get married and take that job at Wal-Mart for 12 bucks an hour? That's a pay CUT!!! better to sit home and make babies on my dime.

Shouldn't be hard to see. Yay, liberal "safety nets". Safety nets should be for the elderly and truly disabled. Note the word TRULY. I know that several years into Obama's rule, more people were put on disability than new jobs created. Wonder how much that will cost over the next 40 years....
