While I agree no knock warrants should not be allowed there are several inaccuracies in this post, please educate yourself on the details and not the feels. The issue in this instance is the policy not the police.

None of this changes that no knock warrants shouldn't be legal and are dangerously reckless. I'm not sure you hold the individual officers culpable for doing something that is currently legal, but if anything, this should be a wake up call. Outlaw no knock warrants. I'm already of the opinion they violate the 4A anyway. And don't blame the BF for shooting when someone storms his home unannounced. How the hell was he supposed to know it was the police? I doubt they immediately identified themselves if they didn't even knock. And so what that her friends dealt drugs? I've had friends in the past that dealt drugs. Doesn't mean the police should feel free to bust into my house and shoot me dead. This entire situation was effed up, and I'm not sure how anyone comes away from this thinking no knock warrants are a good idea. They're not.

The boyfriend shot at the cops because they served a no knock warrant on the wrong address with the actual guilty party already in custody.

The friend selling drugs, and any knowledge she had of it, has absolutely zero to do with her getting shot.

A civilian shots back at someone shooting at them, and hits an innocent passerby, they rightfully get charged. Serving a warrant doesnt give the cops care blanche to shoot innocent people, I dont think it even gives them care blanche to shoot the person they are serving the warrant on. Or at least this warrant.

The cops effed up. Period.

Doesnt mean they are racist.
But several people involved on the cops side deserve to face charges.
