That's racist!

Not to mention that was probably a photoshoot where they took 200 pictures of many different poses. Some colorblind marketing senior probably thought this was the cutest one. Why would she have thought it was racist if, in her eyes, color is not a difference. That's the real irony here. The people who are least racist are often the ones accused of being racist. Colorblindness is not an acceptable model of race relations any longer. Now we are supposed to acknowledge the inherent privilege or disadvantage associated with one's skin color. Such a messed up way to address race relations.

This. The move away from MLK (colorblindness) by the left wing of our country and towards Malcolm X has been disgusting.

That’s one of my favorites. I read somewhere that if you live more than 15 minutes from a grocery store you live in a food desert. If so, I’ve only ever lived in one. My last house took 5 minutes just to leave the subdivision

Moving from East Tennessee to Hattiesburg, MS, our monthly food costs more than doubled. Even grocery shopping at Walmart was significantly more expensive; there was no Aldi in our area, and only one scratch and dent grocer. It was common for grad students in my program to carpool to Slidell, LA and go to Publix every other weekend or so. An hour drive each way was worth the price drop and quality increase.

When we moved to Allendale, MI after my coursework was finished, food prices fell dramatically. So much fresh! So inexpensive!

I'm not discrediting the definition you've mentioned, but I believe it extends beyond just distance to a grocer. If the food is exorbitantly expensive and limited in scope, what does it matter if you live next door?

Also, why the hell was the fertile Mississippi Delta a food desert?

That’s awesome that you lived in Hattiesburg. I used to travel to Richton every year for the Pecan Festival. I made a killing there. Here’s a pic of my booth from one of those years.

I’ve heard of food deserts for many years. I understand the concept.

I had never heard it referred to as food “apartheid”

Well you know it apparently only impacts black folks so I guess that's what it has to be.
Yes, therein lies one of the issues. I’m sure “food deserts” exist throughout the heartland in poor, white communities too. Same for indigenous communities in the Dakotas

I've never seen the term white supremacy thrown around so easily as it's been the last 4-5 years. Simply disagree with someone of color and you're labeled a white supremacist....even if you are a person of color. Phrases like, "the black face of white supremacy" have to make MLK roll over in his grave.

This. The phrase "White Supremacy" has been hijacked by the left and minorities to basically be used against anyone White who does something or has something better than non Whites.

The upside is that the intended shock value they wanted has been diluted due to the phrases overuse. Sort of like black folks calling each other n#####s all day everyday.

Which one of you mayonnaise cave dwellers want to write an article saying you don’t want any black folks moving into your neighborhood? You know…. Just to see if there’s any blow back.
