My understanding is that it was not a refund he sought. He asked to switch his flight to his daughter. He could no longer go see her so he was trying to use it get her to him.

There would be some minor costs.

The PR fall-out, boycott under way and likely loss of business will cost more than this will. Forget the human element - the decision will lose money for this company because of how it has played out. Losing battles and winning the war comes to mind.

Disagree. Giving him the refund essentially gives everyone that buys the $14 insurance, the middle finger.

I am constantly amazed at what the term "veteran" is supposed to get you in life. As if it automatically grants you the right to be right about everything.

Also, the dying thing, if you ate dying then why are you so hung up on $197.

classy comment right there

I am not hostile and my comment is certainly no less valid than your "classy" nonsense.

He and his daughter can buy another ticket and they are then out $197 or the difference between that and the higher price.

My opinion is quite sensible.

if only Meekins looked like the son Obama never had, the DOJ might've launched an investigation.

To me, the most despicable of their ridiculous fees are for "overweight" baggage. Most airlines accept checked baggage up to 50 pounds before it is considered overweight. After flying multiple legs on other airlines, my last leg was on Spirit. My 44 pound bag cost me an extra 50 bucks! Among other nickle and dime BS, this cost them this frequent flyer's bidness in perpetuity.

I got charged that fee, also. I just paid it.

I guess I should have read the the baggage agreement before hand.

I didn't make the same mistake again.

He is going to die, as we all will, crybaby. No need to deflect anything. You tell me what it is he deserves and why he deserves it. Floor is your's brainless.

He asked for something that could not be done. Issue stands dumbarse. Again, explain why he deserves what you say he deserves. Floor is still there and you have refused to step out on it. Still in your seat moaning about your feelings.

then why is he doing it now numb nuts.......I never said he "deserved" squat.....any one that has actually run a company would know that the CEO made a HUGE mistake trying to make his "point".....it is obvious you have no business sense......the FACT that he is now caveing kinda proves my point big boy

I have no feelings when it comes to business, just common sense.

I honestly would like to salute the CEO of Spirit Airlines for not succumbing to this trumped pressure to refund $197 to a veteran. You have a policy, stand by it. Good job. Not sure if this is the right forum, but what the heck.

how does that crow taste?

The CEO was fine, he just caved because of idiots like you crying about this type of stuff. Hell, your panties are probably still soiled over it.

It proves nothing except that he is as spineless as you when it comes to principles. You are indeed common, all common.

can not admit that you are wrong on this issue can you, but the CEO can and has.....we know who is the bigger man now don't we

Yes, standing by written policy is wrong. If it is, do away with the damn policy or keep it and be a spineless unprincipled little cry baby like you that can't stand by a decision.

I lost about a half ounce of respect for the CEO if he did offer the refund.

But I'm still going to fly Spirit in the future, anyways.
