Sweet bro. Is that the perks from your Disney card?

Yeah. I use it for most of my purchases that I don't use cash for. We pay the balance off in full each month so we don't have interest charges. Also, putting the trip on the card let's us pay for it over 6 months int free.

I usually nickel and dime my days to get work done at home, or day trips when the kids are out of school. I hardly ever take more than 1 or 2 days at a time.

I think Stewart's situation is very different. He feels that it is duty to give back to spring car racing. Its whst opened up the door for him to have the success he has had. As DW said, he is a sprint car racer that just happens to be a hell of a cup driver. Racing is his passion. His stress relief, so to speak. I'm sure his sponsors aren't happy, but they knew wat they were buying into. Just listen to the interviews of Earnhardt Jr, JJ, Kahne, DW, Bowyer...and many others. They admire him for doing wat he does( for free most of the time). He is a true racers racer. Not many of those left today. Yeah, it bit him in the ass this week. I think the media's reaction will push him out of a cup car sooner than expected so he can do what he wants. I hope not, but that's what I'm thinking.

Come hang out in the 12000th and talk racing more often. Hard to talk about it in the racing forum without all the 1 sided opinions jumping in with their smartass comments. Its nice to talk with someone thats a little more open minded.:hi:

Dang, that was a lot of typing....

No way. Smoke made too much of an investment in this team to walk. I wish he would make a stand though against sticking around past his early 50's. I am not a fan of seeing these old dudes putting around collecting checks. I know if Jeff ends up in a situation where he is just putting around not doing much it will be a pain to watch.

HOWEVAH,

Folks can be a lot more competitive in NASCAR at an advanced age than other sports.

As to paragraph 2, will do.

I don't think he will close up shop. But he will step out and be just an owner. Then he can drive what he wants, when he wants. I don't see him grasping on and just holding a seat down. Neither will Gordon. They have too much pride. The money has been great over the last 10 yrs. It wasn't as good for DW, Labonte(both), Elliott,....... and so on. That prob had a good bit to do with them being field fillers for so long.

Mark Martin has been competitive. He's an exception, imo.

Yeah, but he keeps landing in solid cars, and has been able to choose what he drives. The others have basically fell into lower tied cars just to keep running and earning a dollar. I bet DW has made more at Fox/speed running his mouth, than he did his whole racing career.

True, that's why I am a bit conflicted. I don't want to take a job away from a driver who can still get the job done. BUT, having someone like Morgan Shepard qualify for a race does NASCAR no favors.

Good point. There is real money in S&P, if you can get your travel costs down.

Race cars sound good.

Also last year's finish:
