I think we have several holes on defense and I love the talent on offense but I am suspect if we show up everyday.

I really am not sure who the 2 losses will be but I expect a 9-2 season, very realistically a 10-1 year with breaks

You may have forgotten bowl games and a possible SECCG... I think 9 or 10 wins this year will definitley be enough, provided we beat Georgia. I have a feeling Meyer is going to be streaky.

I am speaking about the regular season.

I could see 11 wins with the SECCG and Bowl game...of course

It will be extremely tough to go undefeated with our schedule, but if we don't have any injuries to key players it can be done. 10 or 11 wins is probably more realistic. I also think the Defense will be improved over last season.

If any year was going to be hard to predict it would be this year. TN faces 5 teams with new coaches. Some say that should play in our favor but I have also been told that the devil you do know is better than a devil you don't know because that way you can at least prepare somewhat. We are going into 5 games this year pretty much blind. It will be tough for our defense for sure. We will have to play strong fundemental defense and keep the offense on the field as long as possible IMO.

I agree. Just stick with the fundamentals and have a defense ready to take anything it gets thrown at it. Chavis is really gonna have to stretch his playbook in '05.

Well, I said 13. I believe we have all the pegs in place. It's a daunting task to go undefeated but I believe we have as good a chance as anyone.

i dont see us or anyone getting past usc... (southern cal yall so dont falm me)...

How are we not going to beat usc. they lost there OC, lost alot of key defensive players, just lost alot of offensive players because of grades. they will slump.

We don't know how good they'll be post-Chow.

Norm Chow was a huge part of their success. Will they be as good without him. I say, "No way."

Saying USC won't be as good post-Chow doesn't say much. A lot of the key offensive players Chow developed are left over, and Pete Carroll still seems to be running the defensive side of things smoothly.

Everybody seems to forget last season what made Southern California so strong was their depth. They have plenty of up-and-coming talent, and although they will not be as strong as last year, they will still be the toughest to beat in the country. Don't think the offense at USC will begin to slump just yet.

I think it means quite a lot, milo. Chow's system made the offensive players insanely good and kept a LOT of pressure off the defense.

Without his system, I see USC losing 1, if not 2, games

We'll see how it works out. I remember one stastic from last year, USC's defense allowed an average of four second half points per game. Whether or not the offense was taking off pressure, that's a pretty amazing stastic, especially with all the offensive firepower the Pac-10 has. My point was, they will slip, but even slipping still means they're potentially better than everybody else, which is what I think.

I think USC will still go 13-0 and win their third AP National Title. Leinart will not win the Heisman, however, as USC will lose some of the dazzle from their offense. Look for their Rose Bowl opponnent to give them a tough game. After this next season is when they truly begin to slide. I just think there's too much of Chow's talent left over for them to become so much worse that they'd actually lose a regular season game.

USC's defense is surely a very good one but with the decline of their offense, I expect them to have a lot of pressure on them which can cause funny things to happen.

Let's remember that their D caused Stanford, UCLA, and others to jump out to leads and then they settled down once their offense got drives going and so forth.

They may have some of the best athletes on their team but without Chow and their usual system, watch for many of the players to have sub-par years.

Auburn proved that you can do well with a lot of talent and mediocre coaching this last season. And we all know that Carroll is better than Tubbs.
