Polanco could be another key addition for the Phils. Not an upgrade over Feliz or anything, but he could do well.

Okay, before we get into actual division victory and playoff berth discussion

GO NATIONALS.

Carry on...

I am glad the Phillies got Polanco. I'm more afraid of Feliz than him.

I think the key addition for the Braves is Troy Glaus. Our success depends on him and Chipper staying out of the infirmary..oh, and actually hitting cough chipper cough.

True. Glaus in 08, when he was last somewhat healthy, he hit .270 with 27 bombs. Sure would help for he and chipper to repeat 08 rather than 09.

Really?

Feliz: .266 12 82 .308 OBP .694 OPS
Polanco: .285 10 72 .331 .727

Feliz was the ultimate black hole, save for one WS hr.

I didn't know Polanco's line was that impressive last year, and extra extra good in 2007.

I guess I just had 07 polanco in my mind and thought last year was a big step down, but he's definitely still a good option. Big time in fact. Good defensively, we'll see about 3rd base. I like him.

Yeah a lifetime .303 hitter >>> a lifetime .254 hitter.
Where will polanco bat?

So apparently Strasburg's nickname in the clubhouse is "Jesus" because when he pitches all you can say is, "Jesus."

Derek Norris, high ranked catcher prospect, said his two seam breaks "like a good left handed slider."

i'd say 93-94 ish i can't find the article where Norris said that cause i forget which site it was on.

Here is what Norris said. It was on mlb.com

"His fastball has a lot of life," Norris said. "The thing that stuck out in my mind was his sinker, which has a lot more action than it did five month ago. It's incredible. It's almost like a lefty slider. ... All of his pitches are great to me. I think they are all-plus pitches, but from where he has progressed since October, his two-seamer is incredibly better."

Yes, really. I do not care about Placido Polanco. The threat of Feliz worries me a lot more than oppo singles.

What threat? The threat of him striking out with 2 on and 1 out? That's all he's good for. Guy's terrible and I was pleased every time I saw him come to bat in the WS.

Re: Strasburg-
"Is his stuff like [Justin] Verlander?' " asked pitching coach Steve McCatty, knowing Rodríguez caught the A.L. strikeout leader in Detroit.

"No," said Rodríguez. "It's like Nolan."

How can you say the "threat" worries you more when he has two more homers to show for it?

How do runners score? They get on base. With the big boppers already in the lineup, a guy like that works.
