The 2023 March Madness “Other Games” Thread

I'm just curious though...does college basketball not have enough analysts to where they have to use a bunch of NBA guys? I'm hearing Avery Johnson on a telecast in addition to others. Does it have to do with college basketball analysts having contracts with ESPN?

This sh*t is why I never get bent out of shape about March. Year after year after year just expect the unexpected, the near impossible really.

It's true, but for crying out loud I'd love to be on the good side of the madness for a change. It's happened ONE time for us and that was 13 years ago.

I mean #15 seeds rarely beat the #2, especially a top 8, all year, Arizona team. Not a lot of upsets but two top 4 seeds are out, so they are big time upsets
The 15 beating a 2 is getting to be about every year now.

Edit: 3 straight years now.

Yes that's part of it. ESPN has their people locked up typically. For example Vitale is calling the tournament for European broadcasts.

Free/supplemented housing in the greater NY/NJ area is nothing to sneer at to be fair
Meh. At the end of the day, you're still in Jersey. A close friend taught at Sarah Lawrence (Bronxville, up past Manhattan) which was a great gig because the campus is beautiful and it's a relatively cheap and easy train ride into the city.

There has been a double digit seed make the S16 in the last 14 tournaments. They’re the team I chose. Don’t like Xavier’s defense and if they go cold, they’re done. I like to pick teams that get a game under their belt early out of the “first four” and potentially make a run. Just a hunch tho
One of the first 4 winners usually makes the Sweet 16. I have Pitt there too.

A 15 seed has beaten a two seed in five out of the last nine tournaments.
