A Rod has nothing to lose fighting this. MLB made up 211 games (not even an option for suspending him). The suspension will be reduced, without a doubt. MLB is so full of ****. These are the kinds of shenanigans the union would have taken to town in court in the past except all the players are sick of A Rod and PEDs in general.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong. I know he was willing to leave money on the table when the Rangers were originally negotiating with the Red Sox; I thought the parameters remained roughly the same when they turned to the Yankees instead. Maybe not.

Doesn't look like it, the Red Sox deal was shut down by the MLBPA because they would not accept a trade that decreased the contracts value. Not sure why they would change things with the yankees

He opted out of a 10yr. $252mil contract and then signed a 10yr. $275mil contract.
